Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is seeking an exceptional Executive Chef to lead the culinary team at the Marriott Fort Collins, one of Northern Colorado's premier full-service hotels.

This Is a True Working Chef Opportunity

We are looking for a leader who is just as comfortable creating culinary excellence on the line, executing banquets, mentoring cooks, and leading service as they are managing budgets and developing menus. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be actively involved in the day-to-day kitchen operations while driving innovation, quality, profitability, and guest satisfaction.

Position Summary

The Executive Chef is responsible for leading all culinary operations at Marriott Fort Collins, including restaurant, banquet, catering, and hotel food production. This role oversees menu development, food quality, inventory management, labor controls, sanitation compliance, and kitchen team leadership.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of culinary expertise, operational knowledge, and leadership skills while maintaining a visible presence in the kitchen and setting the standard for excellence through hands-on involvement.

What You'll Do:

Culinary Leadership

Lead all food production operations for the hotel, restaurant, meetings, special events, and banquet functions.
Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
Develop and execute innovative menus that drive revenue and enhance the guest experience.
Participate directly in food preparation, production, plating, and service execution.
Ensure adherence to all company, brand, and health department standards.

Team Development

Recruit, train, coach, mentor, and develop culinary team members.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Conduct performance evaluations and support associate growth and development.
Build an engaged and motivated culinary team focused on excellence.

Operational Excellence

Manage food and labor costs while meeting financial objectives.
Oversee purchasing, inventory controls, receiving, and storage procedures.
Coordinate with Catering and Sales teams to execute successful events and banquets.
Monitor sanitation, food safety, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
Participate in budgeting, forecasting, menu engineering, and strategic planning.

Guest Experience

Ensure every meal reflects Marriott standards and exceeds guest expectations.
Respond proactively to guest feedback and concerns.
Serve as a visible leader who contributes to an exceptional hospitality experience.

QualificationsRequired

Minimum of 3 years of Executive Chef experience, including planning and executing large-scale events and banquet functions.
Strong leadership experience managing kitchen teams and daily culinary operations.
Thorough knowledge of food preparation, presentation, sanitation, and kitchen management.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

Formal culinary education from an accredited culinary program.
Executive Chef experience within a hotel environment.
Experience with Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, Wyndham, or similar hotel brand standards and operating procedures.
Proven success managing budgets, food costs, labor costs, and menu development.

Physical Requirements

This position is active and physically demanding. Candidates must be able to:

Stand and work for extended periods.
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
Push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 pounds.
Demonstrate culinary techniques and food preparation skills.
Work safely in hot kitchen environments and cold storage areas.
Operate commercial kitchen equipment and tools safely and effectively.
