Buckeye Welding Supply, a local leader in welding products and services, is seeking a Purchasing & Inventory Manager to join their team based out of either Greeley, CO or Henderson, CO.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or inventory management leadership roles.
- Experience within industrial distribution, industrial gas, commodities, or high-volume B2B supply environments is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience implementing inventory controls, replenishment systems, and operational process improvements.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and data analysis.
- Experience with PowerBI or similar reporting platforms.
- Strong ERP system experience required; familiarity with TIMS (Computers Unlimited) preferred.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted productivity tools such as Copilot, Gemini, or Claude is a plus.
Essential duties/responsibilities:
Supply Chain & Purchasing Leadership
- Lead purchasing and inventory management operations across all branch locations.
- Develop and maintain scalable purchasing policies, replenishment strategies, and inventory controls.
- Negotiate vendor agreements, rebate programs, payment terms, and strategic buying opportunities.
- Monitor vendor performance, pricing accuracy, and contract compliance within the ERP system.
- Support supply chain integration efforts for acquisitions and new branch openings.
Inventory Management & Operational Controls
- Establish and continuously optimize Min/Max inventory levels based on sales trends, lead times, seasonality, and branch demand.
- Oversee cycle count programs, inventory audits, and variance investigations across all locations.
- Identify, manage, and reduce deadstock inventory while improving inventory turns and working capital efficiency.
- Coordinate reverse logistics activities including vendor returns, credits, and inventory discrepancy resolution.
- Analyze inventory shortages, shrinkage, and operational inconsistencies to identify root causes and corrective actions.
Logistics & Freight Optimization
- Monitor inbound and outbound freight activity, including parcel and LTL transportation expenses.
- Audit freight costs and vendor-supported shipping programs to ensure cost efficiency and rebate maximization.
- Partner with warehouse and branch leadership to improve material flow, receiving accuracy, and operational consistency.
ERP, Reporting & Analytics
- Maintain integrity of purchasing data, vendor pricing, rebate structures, and inventory cost information within the ERP platform.
- Develop operational dashboards, reporting tools, and KPI tracking using Excel, PowerBI, and ERP reporting systems.
- Translate operational and financial data into actionable business insights for leadership.
- Train branch managers and operational teams on inventory reporting, controls, and data accuracy standards.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead and mentor purchasing and warehouse personnel while promoting accountability, process discipline, and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with warehouse operations, branch leadership, and accounts payable to resolve inventory and invoice discrepancies.
- Drive adoption of standardized processes, operational improvements, and inventory best practices throughout the organization.
