Sous Chef (Culinary Assistant Project Manager) – $22/hour

Nationwide Travel | 30 Days On / 14 Days Off | 12-Hour Shifts

A.D. Susman & Associates is seeking an experienced Sous Chef (Culinary Assistant Project Manager) to support culinary operations at remote project sites across the United States. This role assists in managing culinary projects, coordinating with kitchen teams, and ensuring daily operations run smoothly while delivering exceptional dining experiences in high-volume environments.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with extensive culinary experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to assist in overseeing kitchen operations, inventory, scheduling, and food quality while supporting the Head Chef.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing culinary projects from start to finish, ensuring operations run efficiently and on schedule.
Support the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations.
Coordinate with culinary staff to deliver high-quality meals and exceptional service.
Assist with menu planning and meal preparation.
Manage inventory, food ordering, and stock levels.
Monitor food costs, labor costs, and kitchen efficiency.
Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and productive kitchen environment.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of professional Chef experience OR 10+ years of catering/high-volume culinary experience.
Experience with menu planning.
Inventory management experience.
Knowledge of food cost and/or labor cost management.
Leadership experience supervising kitchen staff.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Culinary Degree.
Experience working in mobile kitchens or RV kitchen environments.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Position Requirements

Willing to travel nationwide.
Ability to work a 30 days on / 14 days off rotation.
Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
Authorized to work in the United States.

Pay: $22.00 per hour
