Pay: $55.00 – $69.00 per hour (varies by facility, shift, and experience)
Location: Fort Dodge, KS 67843 (assignments available across multiple Kansas facilities)
Schedule: 5x 8-hour shifts or 3x 12-hour shifts; day, evening, night, or rotating; up to full-time hours
Start: Upon request as new orders open
Duration: Variable assignment lengths; multiple openings throughout the year
Job Type: Contract (local and travel candidates welcome)
Pay Frequency: Weekly pay

About the Role

ShareSTAFF is hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) for contract assignments across Kansas. As a contract RN, you will provide direct patient care, complete assessments, administer medications, document in the EMR, and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team. You'll choose assignments at acute care hospitals, skilled nursing and long-term care facilities, state-operated facilities, and other healthcare settings that fit your experience, schedule, and location. New openings come in throughout the year - whether you want to start next week or a few months out, we'll match you with the right opportunity. Both 5x 8-hour and 3x 12-hour shifts are available across day, evening, night, and rotating schedules. Local Kansas candidates and travel RNs are equally encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

Provide direct nursing care in the assigned facility setting (acute care, skilled nursing, long-term care, or other)
Complete nursing assessments and reassessments at the cadence required by facility policy and patient condition
Administer medications and treatments as ordered, including IV, oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes
Document all care and patient responses in the facility's electronic medical record (EMR) at the time services are rendered
Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapy services, social work, dietary, and other team members
Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition; escalate to medical staff as appropriate
Plan and carry out nursing interventions consistent with the established plan of care; maintain a safe, therapeutic environment
Serve as shift leader or charge nurse when assigned, providing oversight to subordinate nursing staff
Respond to medical emergencies and participate in code response per facility protocols
Perform other nursing duties as assigned within the scope of the RN license

What You Bring - Required

Active, unrestricted Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) license, Kansas temporary permit, or compact state RN license with authority to practice in Kansas as recognized by the Kansas State Board of Nursing
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Minimum one (1) year of recent RN experience in an acute care, skilled nursing, long-term care, or comparable healthcare setting
Ability to work 5x 8-hour or 3x 12-hour shifts, including day, evening, night, or rotating schedules as assigned
Must be able to complete pre-placement requirements, including a drug screen approved by the Kansas Department of Administration when assigned to State of Kansas facilities

What You Bring - Preferred

Two or more years of recent RN experience across multiple settings (acute care, skilled nursing, long-term care, or specialty units)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
Specialty experience in medical-surgical, telemetry, ICU, emergency department, geriatric care, behavioral health, or rehabilitation
Charge nurse or shift leader experience
Familiarity with Epic, Cerner, MEDITECH, PointClickCare, or other widely used EMR systems
BSN or higher degree
Flexibility to accept assignments at multiple facility types and locations across Kansas
