Statewide Director of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Position Summary
The Statewide Director of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) provides clinical leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction for ABA services across multiple clinic locations. This position supports high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based service delivery while promoting consistency in clinical practices, growth within the clinic, staff development, and organizational standards. The Director serves as a mentor and resource for Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs) and provides consultation on complex clinical cases. The Director collaborates with leadership to support organizational growth. This role requires regular travel between clinic locations and flexibility to support new clinic development and expansion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
- Provide clinical oversight and leadership for ABA services across five or more clinic locations, with responsibility expanding as new locations are added.
- Mentor, coach, and support BCBAs and BCaBAs to promote clinical excellence, professional growth, and adherence to best practices.
- Maintain a BCBA or BCBA-D to consult on complex client cases, providing clinical guidance, behavioral assessment, and treatment recommendations.
- Conduct direct observations and, when clinically indicated, provide direct services or co-treat with clinicians to address challenging behaviors or support treatment planning.
- Assist clinicians in problem-solving barriers related to treatment effectiveness, caregiver engagement, staffing, and service delivery.
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure coordinated care.
Operational Oversight
- Monitor clinician productivity, billable hours, documentation, and workload to ensure compliance with organizational expectations and funding source requirements.
- Review clinical performance metrics and develop strategies to improve efficiency while maintaining high-quality care.
- Assist with clinic operations by identifying workflow improvements and supporting consistent implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
- Support the onboarding and successful integration of new clinical staff and newly opened clinic locations.
- Ensure ABA Directors and all ABA staff are following EICS policies and procedures and EICS Handbook.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Develop, review, update, and maintain clinical forms, assessment templates, treatment planning documents, and other clinical resources.
- Ensure clinical documentation meets payer, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
- Participate as an active member of the Joint Commission Committee, assisting with accreditation readiness, quality improvement initiatives, policy review, and corrective action planning.
- Promote ethical decision-making and adherence to the BACB Ethics Code and applicable state and federal regulations.
Staff Supervision and Leadership
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and orientation of BCBAs and BCaBAs.
- Provide ongoing supervision, coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Conduct performance evaluations and assist with corrective action, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary processes when necessary.
- Foster a collaborative, supportive, and accountable clinical culture across all locations.
Family and Community Relations
- When necessary, meet with parents and caregivers to address concerns, provide education, resolve service issues, and support positive therapeutic relationships.
- Serve as a clinical resource during difficult family meetings or situations requiring advanced clinical expertise.
Strategic Development
- Assist executive leadership with program development, service expansion, and implementation of new clinical initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve service quality, staff retention, operational efficiency, and client outcomes.
- Support organizational growth through leadership of new clinic startups, clinical standardization, and ongoing program evaluation.
Qualifications
Required
- Master's degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Current Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing and able to supervise.
- KY state licensure (LBA-KY)
- Minimum of five years of experience providing ABA services.
- Minimum of two years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of behavior assessment, treatment planning, staff supervision, and clinical quality assurance.
- Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly between clinic locations.
Preferred
- Experience overseeing multiple clinic locations or regional clinical operations.
- Experience with Joint Commission accreditation or other healthcare accreditation standards.
- Experience opening new ABA programs or clinic locations.
- Knowledge of Medicaid, commercial insurance, Tricare, and other payer requirements.
- Experience developing policies, procedures, and clinical documentation systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the state.
- Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout clinic environments.
- Ability to tolerate loud noises and lift at least 40 pounds
- Ability to safely participate in client observations and, when necessary, implement approved behavior intervention strategies.
Work Environment
This position is based across multiple clinic locations and requires regular statewide travel. The Director works closely with executive leadership, clinic leadership, clinicians, clients, and families in both office, clinical, home, or school environment.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
