Full Job Description

Description: This position is responsible for engaging, organizing, and tracking

expanded learning opportunities at Hallandale Magnet High School, A Community Partnership School™. Expanded learning opportunities will be offered to secondary students and their families in academic, social emotional, and extracurricular topics on campus and at designated satellite sites. Team member will serve onsite daily in a school environment.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Collaborate with community providers and school leadership to integrate enrichment programming into the unique educational environment of Hallandale Magnet High School (outside of designated core academic classroom learning time).

Consult with diverse stakeholders to develop, market, and sustain locally relevant internship and extracurricular programs for Hallandale Beach youth and families.

Maintain accurate and complete participation and engagement data.

Manage contracting, financial reporting, and evaluation of expanded learning providers.

Secondary Job Duties:

Serve as a core member of the Community Partnership School Operations Team.

Build rapport with teachers, staff, parents and community members to be an advocate for students and community needs.

Increase on-site extracurricular programs, mentor services, and service-learning opportunities.

Support staff overseeing athletic opportunities, on-site tutoring and homework help services, and mentor programs with the goal to increase utilization and satisfaction.

Engage partner colleges and universities to create internship opportunities that meet the expanded learning priorities of the community.

Collaborate with current service providers to support meaningful academic, cultural, and recreational programming.

Recruit, train, coordinate, and show appreciation to volunteers leading expanded learning programs.

Create partnerships for new field trips and off campus experiences.

Host collaboration spaces for service providers.

Integrate student opinion to prioritize relevant program offerings.

Apply community asset and needs assessment to prioritize relevant program offerings.

Communicate actively with caregivers to identify student needs and program eligibility.

Prepare contingency plans and remain prepared to supervise youth to maintain continuous programming.

Proactively schedule student engagement throughout the calendar year, including summer months and during school breaks.

Seek community support for a feeding/snack program to benefit extracurricular scheduling.

Oversee facility management and provide leasing participants with the appropriate leadership.

Other Job Duties:

Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as requested by supervisor.

Follow and enforce school district policies and procedures.

Present the Community Partnership School™ model to multiple stakeholders, including students, caregivers, and community leaders.

Prepare written materials for the purposes of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.

Participate actively in departmental meetings, training and education, as well as the quality improvement process.

Collaborate in fundraising and grant writing.

Possible arrangement of transportation of clients.

As needed, work flexible hours including evenings and weekends,

Due to the leadership role United Way is called upon to play in the community, particularly during times of crisis, it is the expectation that all United Way staff will be fully engaged in the organization's crisis plan and response efforts.

Understands and respects the diversity of economic, linguistic and cultural backgrounds and situations.

Actively participate in the COA accreditation process.

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or Social Services related field and one to two years of combined experience in community outreach

graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate’s degree in an Education, Human Services, or Social Services related field and three to four years of combined experience in community outreach

high school diploma or GED equivalent and five years of relevant experience.

Proficient skills working with computers and software programs.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, in a school and with community providers.
Proficiency required in MS Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and other related computer programs.
Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills (English required; Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Ukrainian highly desirable and preferred).

Preferred Experience:

Two (2) years of experience implementing a positive learning environment, in school or out-of-school hours.
Experience mentoring youth.
Experience managing multiple stakeholders.
Experience working with data to inform practice.
Experience in contract management or grant reporting.

Environment & Physical Demands: The environment is climate controlled (i.e., heated and air-conditioned). Lighting is adequate through overhead lighting as well as windows and blinds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Physical demands include sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time, bending, lifting approximately 25 pounds, regular use of the telephone, copier, fax and computer. Demands also involve protracted concentration.
