Full Job Description

Fintech Compliance Monitoring Analyst

Fort Lauderdale, FL; Full-Time; Fintech/Payments/Financial Services

About the Role

I-payout is seeking an experienced Compliance Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join our Compliance team. This role is responsible for reviewing transaction activity, investigating alerts, identifying potentially suspicious behavior, and supporting our AML/BSA and financial crime compliance program.

We are specifically seeking a candidate with hands-on experience using an AI based TM system for transaction monitoring and LexisNexis for compliance screening, research, and investigations. Prior experience in fintech, payments, banking, money transmission, or another regulated financial services environment is required.

This is a hands-on analytical role for someone who understands how to investigate activity, not simply clear alerts.

Key Responsibilities

Review and investigate transaction monitoring alerts generated through the transaction monitoring system.
Analyze customer and transaction activity for unusual or potentially suspicious patterns.
Conduct investigations involving transaction history, customer profiles, counterparties, geographic exposure, etc.
Use investigative tools to perform customer research, adverse media reviews, sanctions/PEP screening, identity verification, and enhanced due diligence.
Document investigations clearly and prepare well-supported recommendations for escalation or closure.
Identify patterns potentially associated with money laundering, fraud, structuring, account takeover, mule activity, sanctions exposure, or other financial crime risks.
Escalate activity requiring additional investigation or potential Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) consideration.
Assist with SAR investigations and supporting documentation.
Perform Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on higher-risk customers and transactions.
Review alerts involving domestic and international payments, ACH, wires, prepaid cards, bank transfers, and other payment methods.
Support sanctions and watchlist investigations, including OFAC-related reviews.
Collaborate with Operations and Customer Support to obtain information necessary to complete investigations.
Maintain detailed case documentation suitable for regulatory, banking partner, and audit review.
Identify recurring alert patterns and recommend improvements to transaction monitoring rules, thresholds, scenarios, and workflows.
Support regulatory examinations, independent testing, bank partner reviews, and internal audits when required.

Required Qualifications

2+ years of transaction monitoring, AML/BSA, financial crime, or compliance investigation experience.
Hands-on professional experience with AI based transaction monitoring software.
Hands-on professional experience with LexisNexis compliance/investigative tools.
Experience investigating transaction monitoring alerts and documenting case dispositions.
Experience within fintech, payments, money transmission, banking, prepaid cards, or financial services.
Ability to analyze large volumes of transactional information and identify unusual patterns.
Strong investigative, analytical, and written communication skills.
Ability to clearly explain why activity is or is not suspicious and support the conclusion with evidence.

Preferred Qualifications

CAMS, CFE, CFCS, or similar financial crime/compliance certification.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and naturally investigative. We want someone who can look beyond an individual transaction to understand a customer's overall activity, identify patterns, connect information across multiple sources, and make sound risk-based decisions.

This position requires someone who can work independently, manage a transaction monitoring caseload efficiently, and recognize when an alert represents a genuine compliance concern.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
