You must have a passion to bring people to change the world by being creative with mixing live sound, innovative lighting design as well as assisting the many ministries here at Calvary Chapel with all of their Audio-Visual needs.
The Assistant AV Manager supports the AV Manager in overseeing the day-to-day audio, lighting, and video operations across our campuses. This role blends technical expertise in sound, lighting, and system design with a heart for ministry — helping ensure that every worship service, event, and campus gathering is supported by excellent, reliable production. The right candidate is both a skilled technician and a growing leader who wants to develop staff, volunteers, and systems that serve the church well.

Uniquely trained and talented in lighting, audio, lighting system design, and music production
Assist the AV Manager with all day-to-day AV operations
-
Help supervise employees, volunteers, and team members across projects and assignments
-
Help design workflow and team assignments across the department
-
Support the AV Manager and Campus AV Specialist in launching new campuses, maintaining existing campus systems, and managing campus requests

Take on direct reports as assigned
Help Maintain and repair AV equipment across all campuses

Help Set up and run sound for weekly events — including church services, funerals, memorials, adult education, women's ministry, various CCA events, and other church functions (on- and off-site)

Help Run sound, lighting, and environmental systems in the Sanctuary

Help Maintain inventory and general upkeep of AV equipment for all rooms
Attend Connection Point events to recruit AV volunteers

Build and lead training sessions for volunteers, and partner with the Campus AV Specialist on training campus AV technicians

Organize an annual team night to bring all AV volunteers together
You have:

Excellent interpersonal skills , interacting with church body and staff professionally and well spoken

Unique training and talent in the areas of lighting, audio and lighting system design and music production

Technological skills of computer, sound and lighting equipment

Ability to take direction and work with very little supervision

Flexible with good time management skills
