Full Job Description

Aweome opportunity for a chef that wants to work part time with almost all weekends off. The family is chill and looking for the right person to blend with their family of 6. Kids are in school during the week for lunch. Looking for great chef driven food!

Private Chef — Miami Beach, FL

Location: Private residence in Miami Beach, FL
Schedule: 30–35 hours per week; 4–5 days per week
Meals: Lunch and dinner
Weekends: No regular weekends required
Compensation: Up to $40/hour, based on experience
Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation. Position will begin as a 1099 role for a 30-day trial period, then transition to W-2 employment with health benefits.

About the Role

A private family in Miami Beach is seeking a fun, friendly, and experienced Private Chef to prepare fresh, delicious, family-style lunches and dinners in a private home.

The ideal candidate is professional, organized, flexible, and comfortable preparing a wide variety of cuisines, including healthy everyday meals, elevated dinners, and kid-friendly meals.

This is a great opportunity for a chef who enjoys working in a private household environment, creating weekly menus, shopping for high-quality ingredients, and keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and well-stocked.

Responsibilities

The Private Chef will be responsible for:

Preparing lunch and dinner 4–5 days per week
Creating weekly menu plans based on the family’s preferences
Cooking a variety of cuisines and food styles
Preparing healthy, flavorful, and balanced meals
Making kid-friendly meals as needed
Grocery shopping and sourcing fresh, high-quality ingredients
Managing the kitchen, pantry, refrigerator, and food inventory
Handling food prep, cooking, plating, serving setup, and cleanup
Maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen
Accommodating dietary preferences, allergies, and special requests
Communicating menus, shopping needs, and household preferences clearly

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is:

Warm, friendly, and comfortable working in a private home
Fun, positive, and easy to be around
Experienced as a culinary professional, with at least some experience in restaurants or hotels
Skilled in a wide range of cuisines and cooking styles
Comfortable preparing both adult meals and children’s meals
Organized, with strong menu-planning and grocery-shopping skills
Flexible and able to adjust meals based on family preferences
Clean, reliable, discreet, and professional
Able to work independently and manage the kitchen confidently
Comfortable with occasional entertaining or private parties

Requirements

Prior professional cooking experience required
Formal culinary training preferred, but not required
Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen sanitation
Ability to prepare a wide variety of foods and cuisines
Comfortable grocery shopping and managing household food inventory
Reliable transportation
Excellent references
Ability to maintain discretion and professionalism in a private residence

Schedule & Compensation

This is a 30–35 hour per week position in Miami Beach. The schedule is generally 4–5 days per week, focused on lunch and dinner service. No regular weekends are required.

Compensation is up to $40/hour, depending on experience. The position includes 2 weeks of paid vacation. The role will begin as a 1099 position for a 30-day trial period, then transition to W-2 employment with health benefits.
