Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Legal Assistant / Billing Manager to join our dedicated legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support a wide range of legal functions, manage billing processes efficiently, and contribute to the smooth operation of our law office. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and a passion for delivering exceptional administrative and legal support. In this position, you will play a vital role in managing legal documentation, coordinating client interactions, and ensuring accurate billing practices across multiple practice areas. College degree required.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys across various practice areas.
Manage legal case files using document management systems; ensure all documents are properly organized, reviewed, and maintained.
Conduct legal research to support case development and legal analysis.
Draft, review, proofread, and transcribe legal documents including contracts, pleadings, correspondence, and reports with precision and attention to detail.
Assist with client interviews and data entry; maintain accurate records of client interactions and case updates.
Oversee billing processes using legal billing software; generate invoices promptly and verify billing accuracy in accordance with client agreements.
Coordinate with attorneys on project management tasks related to litigation, document review, and case preparation while ensuring deadlines are met.
Support the firm’s administrative functions by managing phone etiquette, scheduling appointments, filing documents systematically, and performing clerical tasks such as data entry and document filing.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while providing executive administrative support as needed.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant within a busy law office environment;
Strong organizational skills and reliability.
Experience with legal billing is a plus; ability to manage billing cycles accurately.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette; capable of interviewing clients or witnesses when necessary.
Demonstrated clerical experience including filing systems, data entry accuracy, document management systems usage, and general administrative support.
Strong research capabilities combined with analytical thinking to assist attorneys in case preparation.
