Boys & Girls Clubs of the Diamond Hills is seeking a dedicated, mission-driven leader to serve as our next Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Since the opening of our Paris Unit in 1964, our organization has been committed to providing safe places, caring adults, and meaningful opportunities for young people. Today, we serve children and families through Club locations in Alma, Mountainburg, Mulberry, and Paris, Arkansas.
Our next CEO will have the opportunity to build on more than 60 years of service while helping guide the organization into its next chapter.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO provides overall leadership and management of the organization and works closely with the Board, staff, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, donors, schools, community partners, families, and other supporters.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can see the big picture while also understanding the day-to-day needs of a multi-site nonprofit organization. We are looking for a leader who believes in the Boys & Girls Clubs mission, builds strong relationships, develops strong teams, understands financial responsibility and fundraising, and is ready to be an active and visible leader in the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Planning
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the organization.
- Work with the Board of Directors to establish goals, priorities, and plans for the future.
- Identify challenges and opportunities and help develop practical solutions.
- Build a positive culture based on teamwork, communication, accountability, and respect.
Safety & Club Experience
- Make the safety and well-being of Club members and staff a top priority.
- Ensure strong safety practices, policies, and procedures are followed across all Club locations.
- Ensure programs and services provide a consistent, high-quality Club experience for young people.
- Maintain compliance with Boys & Girls Clubs of America requirements, organizational policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
Staff Leadership & Development
- Lead, support, and develop the organization's staff.
- Recruit and retain qualified employees.
- Set clear expectations and hold staff accountable.
- Encourage professional growth, teamwork, and leadership development across the organization.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage the organization's annual operating budget in partnership with staff and the Board of Directors.
- Monitor the organization's financial performance, including revenue, expenses, cash flow, grants, and other funding sources throughout the year.
- Prepare and present budget updates, projections, and financial information to help the Board make informed decisions.
- Work with the Board, Finance Committee, auditors, accounting professionals, and staff to ensure responsible financial management.
- Identify financial challenges, funding gaps, and opportunities and develop practical plans to address them.
- Ensure appropriate financial controls, policies, procedures, and grant requirements are followed.
- Help develop long-term financial plans that support the organization's stability and continued ability to serve youth.
Fundraising & Resource Development
- Take an active role in fundraising and building financial support for the organization.
- Develop and maintain relationships with donors, businesses, foundations, civic organizations, government partners, and other supporters.
- Help identify and pursue new funding opportunities.
- Lead and support grant development, management, compliance, and reporting.
- Work with the Board to strengthen fundraising efforts and grow community support for the Club.
Board Partnership
- Serve as the primary staff partner to the Board of Directors.
- Maintain open, regular, and honest communication with the Board.
- Provide Board members with the information needed to make informed decisions.
- Work with the Board on organizational goals, policies, financial sustainability, and future planning.
Operations & Organizational Performance
- Oversee operations across all Club locations.
- Ensure organizational policies, procedures, records, and systems support effective operations.
- Monitor grant, contract, safety, and other compliance requirements.
- Use financial, membership, program, safety, and other organizational information to guide decisions and identify areas for improvement.
- Work with Boys & Girls Clubs of America and other partners to utilize available training, resources, and best practices.
Community Relationships
- Serve as a visible and positive representative of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Diamond Hills.
- Build strong relationships with schools, businesses, donors, community organizations, government agencies, local leaders, families, and other partners.
- Attend community meetings and events and represent the organization professionally.
- Increase awareness of the Club's mission, programs, needs, and impact.
- Advocate for the young people and families we serve.
Qualifications
Required
- At least five years of progressively responsible leadership or management experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading, supervising, and developing employees.
- Experience developing and managing organizational budgets, monitoring financial performance, and making sound financial decisions.
- Ability to understand and manage grant, contract, and funding requirements and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with staff, Board members, donors, community partners, and the public.
- Strong relationship-building and people skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to lead effectively through challenges and change.
- Demonstrated integrity, accountability, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a Board of Directors and staff team.
- Commitment to the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs and to providing safe, positive opportunities for young people.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nonprofit management, business administration, public administration, education, finance, human services, or a related field.
- Executive or senior-level leadership experience in a nonprofit, youth-serving organization, education, community organization, public service, or similar setting.
- Experience with fundraising, donor development, grant writing, and/or grant management.
- Experience working with or reporting to a Board of Directors.
- Experience overseeing multiple locations, programs, or departments.
- Experience with nonprofit financial management, grants, and multiple funding sources.
- Knowledge of Boys & Girls Clubs of America or experience with another youth-serving organization.
- Experience building community partnerships and representing an organization publicly.
