About the Position
Sallisaw Dental Care is seeking an experienced Dental Insurance Claims Coordinator to join our growing team. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years of dental insurance experience who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maximizing insurance reimbursement.
This position may be full-time or part-time. Hybrid work is available for the right candidate after training and demonstrated proficiency. While some work can be completed remotely, occasional in-office attendance will be required for training, team collaboration, and other responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities
Your primary focus will be managing the insurance claims process from submission through payment, ensuring claims are submitted accurately and insurance reimbursements are collected promptly.
Responsibilities include:
- Submit dental insurance claims accurately and efficiently
- Follow up on outstanding, delayed, and denied claims
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim issues
- Appeal denied claims when appropriate
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and post insurance payments accurately
- Maintain detailed documentation of claim activity and follow-up
As the position evolves, responsibilities may expand to include:
- Verifying patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Obtaining pre-authorizations and predeterminations
- Working insurance accounts receivable (A/R) aging reports to maximize collections
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of dental insurance coordination experience required
- Strong knowledge of dental insurance, PPO plans, and claim processing
- Experience with insurance follow-up and appeals
- Ability to interpret EOBs and resolve claim discrepancies
- Experience with Open Dental is preferred
- Excellent organizational, computer, and communication skills
- Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently while also working well with a team

Sallisaw Dental Care is a modern, technology-driven two-doctor general dental practice located in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. We provide comprehensive dental care, including preventive, restorative, cosmetic, endodontic, oral surgery, implant, and same-day emergency dentistry.
We are a PPO practice and participate with Connection Dental, Delta Dental, HealthChoice, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arkansas, allowing us to serve patients with a wide variety of insurance plans.
