Job Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support across outpatient and inpatient settings, including dermatology, internal medicine, hospital medicine, and urgent care environments. Your proactive approach will ensure efficient patient flow, accurate medical documentation, and exceptional service delivery. Responsibilities

Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) in accordance with safety protocols.
Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical histories, ICD coding, and treatment plans.
Support medical office operations by scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and handling administrative tasks related to billing and insurance verification.
Assist with specialized procedures in dermatology clinics or hospital settings, including wound care or minor surgical assistance.
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications

Prior experience in medical office settings or outpatient clinics is highly preferred; familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is essential.
Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding enhances your ability to deliver quality patient care.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous.
Experience working within hospital environments or trauma centers (Level I or II trauma experience) is a plus.
Strong communication skills with a passion for patient service and teamwork are vital for success in this role.
Ability to perform clinical procedures accurately while maintaining compassion and professionalism under pressure.
