Experienced Poured-In-Place Rubber Surfacing Installer
Safe Pave LLC is seeking an experienced poured-in-place rubber surfacing installer to join our growing team in Navarre, Florida.
Pay: $28–$32 per hour
This is a full-time opportunity intended for an experienced installer who wants to grow with the company. Our immediate workload includes an extended commercial installation followed by residential and commercial projects throughout Northwest Florida.
We are not looking for someone to complete one project and leave. Our goal is to find the right person for a long-term role with Safe Pave.
This is not a general labor or entry-level position. Applicants should have professional, hands-on experience installing hand-troweled poured-in-place rubber surfacing and be able to contribute skill, consistency, and confidence to the crew from the beginning.
Safe Pave takes pride in premium workmanship, attention to detail, honest communication, clean and organized jobsites, and respect for our customers’ property. We are looking for someone who shares those standards and takes genuine pride in the finished product.
Relevant Experience
Applicants should have direct experience with one or more of the following:
- EPDM or TPV rubber surfacing
- Wet-pour rubber systems
- Poured-in-place playground surfacing
- Polyurethane-bound rubber surfacing
- Rubber pool decks, patios, walkways, entrances, or commercial surfaces
- Borders, patterns, logos, stairs, edges, and detailed finish work
Experience with epoxy flooring, concrete coatings, tile, artificial turf, or general construction may be helpful, but it does not replace professional poured-in-place rubber surfacing experience.
Responsibilities
- Accurately measure and mix rubber granules and polyurethane binder
- Screed and hand-trowel material to a consistent thickness and finish
- Produce clean edges, smooth transitions, straight borders, and uniform texture
- Complete detailed work around walls, doors, drains, stairs, edges, and other transitions
- Monitor mix consistency, working time, material usage, and installation conditions
- Identify potential issues before they affect the finished surface
- Assist with surface preparation, grinding, cleaning, masking, priming, setup, and cleanup
- Protect walls, doors, landscaping, vehicles, and surrounding property
- Keep tools, materials, and work areas clean and organized throughout the project
- Follow project specifications and Safe Pave installation standards
- Communicate clearly when questions or concerns arise
- Work efficiently and professionally as part of a small crew
- Share knowledge and help maintain consistent quality across the installation
What We Value
We are looking for someone who:
- Takes pride in producing a professional finished surface
- Notices the small details that separate average work from premium work
- Maintains consistent thickness, texture, edges, and transitions
- Keeps tools and work areas clean and organized
- Respects customers, coworkers, and surrounding property
- Shows up reliably and communicates clearly
- Works well with a small, hardworking crew
- Helps solve problems instead of ignoring them
- Accepts feedback and is willing to share their own experience
- Understands that quality and cleanliness matter from setup through final cleanup
Every project presents challenges. What matters is identifying issues early, communicating honestly, and working together to deliver an installation we are proud to put the Safe Pave name on.
Requirements
- Professional poured-in-place rubber surfacing experience
- Ability to clearly explain your role on previous installations
- Ability to screed and hand-trowel with limited supervision
- Understanding of mix ratios, working time, thickness control, and finish consistency
- Photos, references, or other proof of completed work
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependable attendance and communication
- Reliable transportation to job sites or an agreed meeting location
- Ability to work on your knees and perform physically demanding work
- Ability to lift and carry rubber bags, buckets, tools, and installation materials
- Willingness to work early mornings, extended installation days, some weekends, or travel when required
- Valid driver’s license preferred
Pay and Paid Working Evaluation
Starting pay is $28 per hour.
The first two weeks will serve as a paid working evaluation. This allows both Safe Pave and the installer to determine whether the position, company, and crew are a good long-term fit.
The evaluation will consider:
- Rubber surfacing knowledge and installation ability
- Screeding and hand-troweling workmanship
- Thickness and material control
- Edges, transitions, texture, and detailed finish work
- Reliability and communication
- Attention to detail
- Jobsite cleanliness and organization
- Ability to work effectively with the Safe Pave crew
- Willingness to share knowledge and help strengthen the team
- Potential to grow into additional responsibilities
Following the evaluation, pay may be increased up to $32 per hour based on demonstrated ability, workmanship, reliability, and the level of responsibility the installer can independently handle.
Applicants should be capable of more than basic preparation, mixing, or material handling. This position is intended for someone who can immediately contribute meaningful poured-in-place rubber surfacing experience.
Schedule and Travel
This is intended to become a full-time, long-term position for the right person.
Hours may vary depending on workload, project schedules, weather, and installation conditions. Work may include:
- Residential and commercial installations
- Projects throughout Northwest Florida
- Occasional out-of-area installations
- Early start times
- Extended installation days
- Some weekend work
Travel requirements, lodging, and travel compensation will be discussed before any out-of-area assignment.
Continued employment will depend on performance, reliability, workmanship, company workload, and the needs of the business.
Long-Term Growth Opportunity
For the right person, this position can grow beyond installation.
Future opportunities may include:
- Helping lead installation crews
- Training and supporting newer team members
- Assisting with jobsite planning and material coordination
- Measuring and documenting potential projects
- Participating in customer consultations and estimates
- Taking ownership of projects from preparation through final cleanup
- Growing into a leadership role within Safe Pave
