Harrison Dental Group is looking for an experienced, self-directed Dental Laboratory Technician to join our in-house dental lab in Fort Wayne.
We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work. The right person should be comfortable managing cases from start to finish, prioritizing their workload, meeting due dates, communicating directly with our doctors, and producing consistently high-quality work without needing day-to-day supervision.
This is an opportunity to work directly with dentists in a growing, privately owned dental group and play an important role in the continued development of our in-house laboratory.
What You'll Do
You'll be responsible for the digital design, production, and finishing of a variety of dental restorations and appliances, including:
- Crowns and bridges
- Dentures and removable prosthetics
- Night guards
- Surgical guides
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Designing crown and bridge cases using Exocad
- Managing digital case workflows from prescription through completion
- Operating and maintaining dental milling and 3D-printing workflows
- Finishing restorations, including staining and glazing
- Reviewing prescriptions and digital scans for completeness and accuracy
- Communicating directly with doctors when clarification or changes are needed
- Managing case priorities and due dates independently
- Maintaining consistent standards for fit, function, esthetics, and overall quality
- Helping troubleshoot laboratory and digital workflow issues
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Dental laboratory experience
- Experience designing crown and bridge restorations using Exocad
- Experience with digital dental workflows
- Familiarity with milling, 3D printing, and restoration finishing
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize cases independently
- A self-directed work style — you can see what needs to be done and take ownership of getting it done
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience fabricating dentures and other removable prosthetics
- Experience producing night guards and surgical guides
- Advanced staining and glazing experience
We're willing to train the right candidate in areas such as dentures and removables if they already have a strong digital foundation and demonstrate the ability to learn and work independently.
