Position Summary
Ultra Maritime is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Analyst I to join our high-performing Program Finance team in Columbia City, IN. The role supports the financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis activities in a program-based manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a desire to learn government contracting and finance principles, and the ability to communicate effectively with cross functional teams. This position is an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in program financial management, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance within a dynamic and complex manufacturing environment.
Job Description
Key responsibilities include:
Assist with monthly revenue recognition, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis for assigned programs
Analyze actual costs against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends and risks
Prepare and maintain program financial reports, metrics, and dashboards
Assist in developing Estimates at Completion (EACs) and long-range financial projections
Collaborate with cross-functional project teams including but not limited to program management, operations, supply chain and engineering
Support contract setup, funding tracking, and compliance requirements
Participate in monthly financial and program reviews
Support the development of new business proposals
Review labor, material, and overhead costs for accuracy and completeness
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
0 to 4 years of experience
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
Ability to manage independent programs
Exposure to ERP systems such as Epicor is a plus
