Tax Manager
(experienced senior/supervisor to Senior Manager)

Fort Wayne, IN

A lot of firms talk about progression. This one can point to it.

Several of the current leadership team have worked their way up internally, and there is genuine opportunity for someone who wants to keep progressing. The people helping you grow have actually been where you are. They understand what it takes to move from Senior to Supervisor, Supervisor to Manager, and beyond.

This is a review focused experienced role. They're open to Seniors through to Directors, you'll join an independent Fort Wayne CPA firm where you will oversee work, support junior staff, build client relationships and still stay close to the technical side.

The role itself is broad, working across closely held businesses, construction, manufacturing, partnerships, S Corps and personal returns, supporting owner managed and multi generational businesses across a range of sizes.

It is a local firm with around 50 people, but one that continues to grow and invest in its people.

Mentorship is a genuine part of the culture at every level here. Partners are involved, people know each other and if you do good work, it gets recognised.

As an experienced Tax indivudual, you'll be comfortable reviewing returns, supporting junior staff and being a go to person within the team. Ideally, you will be spending 70%+ of your time reviewing, but they are open minded if you are currently sitting around the 30%+ mark and want more review responsibility.

If you're at the more Senior Manager level looking for your next and last step before Partner they are growing at the end of the team as well.

What stands out here is the culture.

It has a genuine Midwest feel to it. Down to earth people, collaborative teams and not much ego. They do not see much turnover and there is a reason for that.

They've also made even more commitment to flexibility and outside of busy season, flexible Fridays are year-round, not just between Memorial day and Labour day. Once your core hours are done, you're done.

If you enjoy mentoring, this is also a good place to do it. The firm continues to invest heavily in interns and junior staff, with several recently returning full time after graduating. You will have the chance to help develop people coming through, not just review work and move on.

The firm is also continuing to invest in the future, building stronger review layers internally, improving processes and investing in technology to make work more efficient.

Flex Fridays outside of busy season once core hours are completed
No offshore model, teams stay close to clients
Hybrid working
CPA or EA preferred, or someone on the path towards it. They are big supporters of credentials and will help you get there
