About Us

We are a growing furniture distribution company launching a new operation focused on importing quality furniture from overseas manufacturers and distributing products to furniture retailers across the United States. This is a unique opportunity to join a company at the ground level and play a key role in building efficient warehouse, inventory, and transportation operations that support nationwide growth.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Distribution Manager to oversee all aspects of our warehouse and distribution operations. This individual will be responsible for managing inbound container shipments, inventory control, warehouse staff, order fulfillment, transportation logistics, and customer service performance.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in warehouse management, supply chain operations, furniture distribution, or large-item logistics. This role will help establish operational processes, improve efficiency, and ensure exceptional service to our retail customers.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily warehouse and distribution center operations.
Oversee receipt and unloading of international container shipments.
Ensure accurate inventory control, cycle counts, and inventory reporting.
Develop and implement warehouse processes, procedures, and best practices.
Coordinate outbound shipments to furniture retailers throughout the United States.
Manage relationships with freight carriers, transportation providers, and logistics partners.
Monitor shipping schedules and ensure on-time delivery performance.
Lead, train, and supervise warehouse personnel and team leads.
Establish productivity, safety, and quality standards.
Optimize warehouse layout, storage utilization, and workflow efficiency.
Maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Investigate and resolve shipping, inventory, and customer service issues.
Analyze operational metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist with forecasting labor, equipment, and facility needs as the company grows.

Qualifications

Required

5+ years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or supply chain management experience.
3+ years of leadership experience managing warehouse teams.
Experience with inventory management systems and warehouse operations.
Strong understanding of transportation, freight, and distribution processes.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred

Experience in furniture, home furnishings, appliance, or large-item distribution.
Experience receiving and managing overseas container imports.
Knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and ERP software.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field.

Physical Requirements

Ability to walk the warehouse floor regularly.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working in a warehouse environment and around material handling equipment.
