Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Automotive Title Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing vehicle title processing, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong research skills, familiarity with automotive estate law as it pertains to vehicle titles, and experience in title processing within a law office or similar environment. The Automotive Title Clerk plays a vital role in maintaining accurate records and facilitating smooth transactions for our clients.

Duties

Duties and Responsibilities
Process and verify all new and used vehicle titles and registrations accurately and efficiently in accordance with state regulations
Issue, transfer, and update titles using CVR/EVR systems
Ensure all required funds are collected and correct lienholder information is properly listed
Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date title, registration, and inventory records in the dealership database
Research title status, ownership history, and legal requirements to identify and resolve discrepancies
Collaborate with managers, registry offices, lienholders, other dealerships, customers, and legal entities to resolve title or registration issues
Prepare and process documentation for out-of-state registrations and transactions
Process paperwork for dealer swaps between locations
File sales tax abatements and related documentation as required
Manage and track new and used vehicle inventory related to title and registration status
Assist with preparation of required legal documents and filings related to vehicle titles
Provide coverage for and assist the Registry Clerk as needed
Deliver professional and timely customer service by responding to inquiries promptly and accurately
Ensure compliance with all state laws, RMV regulations, and dealership policies
Safeguard confidential customer and dealership information at all times
Stay current on changes to title laws and regulations affecting the automotive industry

Experience

Previous experience in automotive title processing, vehicle registration, or title clerk roles within a dealership or law office preferred
Working knowledge of vehicle titles, property titles, and real estate law concepts as they relate to ownership and lien documentation
Strong title research and document research skills, including experience using GIS systems, public records, or similar research tools
Experience preparing, reviewing, and managing legal documents, DMV/RMV paperwork, and compliance-related records
Familiarity with law office procedures, document management systems, and legal compliance requirements
Proven background in customer service, demonstrating professional communication, accuracy, and attention to detail
Experience performing administrative support, clerical duties, or records management related to vehicle titles and registrations

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 per week
