Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, sourcing products and services, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring optimal inventory levels to support our operational needs. Your expertise in supply chain management systems and vendor relationship management will drive efficiency and cost savings across the organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where strategic sourcing and procurement excellence are valued.

Duties

Manage end-to-end purchasing processes using systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and other ERP platforms to ensure timely procurement of goods and services.
Source suppliers, evaluate vendor performance, and develop strong vendor relationships to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery schedules.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors to optimize value while maintaining quality standards.
Collaborate with production planning, logistics, and inventory management teams to forecast needs and maintain appropriate stock levels.
Utilize spreadsheets and Excel data analysis tools to monitor purchasing trends, analyze costs, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Support inventory control initiatives by tracking stock levels, conducting regular audits, and managing reorder points within supply chain management systems.
Coordinate with accounting software teams to ensure accurate processing of purchase orders, invoices, and payments aligned with contractual agreements.

Skills

Proficiency in SAP ERP systems, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, AS400 or similar materials management platforms.
Strong understanding of supply chain management principles including procurement strategies, sourcing techniques, logistics coordination, and inventory management.
Experience with purchasing management systems that are technically supported across various departments.
Excellent vendor communication skills coupled with proven ability in vendor negotiation and relationship management.
Skilled in Excel data analysis for procurement reporting, pricing analysis, and cost reduction initiatives.
Knowledge of contracts management, procurement processes including direct negotiation procurement and sourcing strategies.
Familiarity with ERP systems integration for materials planning (MRP), production planning, merchandising, e-commerce platforms, and logistics workflows.
