Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of food safety and preparation techniques. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly by preparing ingredients and assisting in the overall food preparation process. This position requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Prepare and chop ingredients as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and maintaining consistency in food quality.
Ensure all food is handled according to safety and sanitation standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace.
Store food items properly to prevent spoilage and contamination.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and report shortages to management.

Skills

Experience in the food industry or food service environment is preferred.
Knowledge of dietary aide practices is beneficial.
Proficiency with knives and other kitchen equipment is essential.
Strong understanding of food handling procedures and food safety regulations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
Familiarity with restaurant operations and dietary department requirements is an asset.
