Responsibilities
Assist senior technicians with the installation and removal of HVAC equipment, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and ventilation components.
Support troubleshooting efforts by gathering information, preparing tools, and assisting with electrical diagnostics and mechanical repairs.
Help interpret schematics, blueprints, and building automation system diagrams to facilitate accurate system setup and repairs.
Participate in routine HVAC system maintenance tasks such as filter replacements, system inspections, and cleaning procedures.
Utilize hand tools, ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to perform equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
Assist with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, including refrigerant lines and drainage connections.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and properly handling electrical systems and refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations.
Skills
Construction experience or mechanical background that provides a solid foundation for understanding HVAC systems.
Service technician experience or familiarity with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems.
Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and building automation system diagrams accurately.
Knowledge of HVAC design principles and electrical diagnostics for troubleshooting complex systems.
Hands-on experience with plumbing, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), boiler operation, and appliance repair.
Proficiency with hand tools, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other mechanical repair tools.
Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients about system issues and solutions.
Valid driver’s license (preferably <PERSON> driver or equivalent) for field service operations.
Understanding of electrical systems, HVAC system installation & maintenance procedures, and property maintenance practices.
Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS), electrical diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting techniques, and HVAC system repair standards.
