2nd Shift CNC 2 or CNC 3 Setup Person

*Must be a US citizen or current green card holder due to ITAR.

M-F 2:45PM - 11:15PM

Pay depends on experience

DESCRIPTION

Operate and perform moderate to complicated set-ups with guidance of programmer on CNC machinery to perform machining operations on metal work pieces to specific specifications. Responsible for maintaining quality and safety standards, housekeeping, process integrity, monitoring of calibration of all measuring equipment used and monitoring machinery and tools to ensure safe, correct and optimum performance, while maintaining professional conduct in the workplace.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Receive job assignment and communicate with the previous operator briefly, before the beginning of the shift.
Before starting the machine, perform a quick check to ensure that safe and correct operations of the machine is possible.
Verify the paperwork, print number, revision levels, operation sequence, materials, program and check sheet are all correct and consistent.
Ensure that the check sheet dimensions are consistent with the print, run the first set of parts and check the parts dimensions against the print.
Install preset jobs and set up tooling and machinery moderate to senior program editing, tool changes and fixturing designs. Run jobs in an efficient, organized and safe manner, meeting or exceeding the hourly rate, while following the work instructions on the print and/or work order sequence. Must clock in and out of the work order and sequence.
Maintain the workflow and perform quality audits as required to ensure that the product meets or exceeds the customer specifications.
Deburr parts following the work instructions on the work order sequence or on the print.
Make adjustments as required, with proper authorization.
Change worn or broken tooling using appropriate procedures.
Able to lift up to 35lbs and stand for long periods of time.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic

Minimum 3 years’ previous experience operating vertical or horizontal CNC machinery as CNC 2 Operator skill level.
Ability to read write and comprehend moderate to complex work instructions and communications.
Moderate to complex understanding and comprehension of technical language tools and specifications.
Ability to perform moderate to senior tool changes and moderate to senior set up, fixturing.
Excellent blueprint reading skills.
Moderate to Advanced shop math.
Ability to use Vernier and calipers for measuring.
Moderate to senior understanding of CNC control functions and “g” and “m” codes.
Moderate to advanced understanding of programming.

Preferred

High school diploma or equivalent, plus 1-2 years of manufacturing experience.
Strong understanding of CNC control functions and “g” and “m” codes.
Strong understanding of programming.
Basic understanding of tooling and fixturing design.
