We’re Hiring: Business Team Member / Patient Financial Coordinator
Suffolk, VA | Full-Time | Experienced Dental Revenue Cycle Professional
Are you an experienced dental professional with a strong background in insurance billing, accounts receivable, patient billing, and revenue cycle management? Do you enjoy solving account issues, keeping financial workflows organized, and helping patients understand the financial side of their dental care?
Pruden Family Dentistry is looking for an experienced Patient Financial Coordinator to join our team.
This is a dual-role position, with the majority of your time focused on Patient Financial Coordinator responsibilities and dental revenue cycle management, while also supporting the day-to-day operations of our Business Team as needed.
We’re looking for someone who understands that a strong revenue cycle goes far beyond submitting claims. Accuracy, follow-through, communication, documentation, and consistent account resolution all matter.
We want YOU to join our dental family!
What Makes Us Different:
- A supportive, upbeat team that enjoys working together
- A patient-first approach focused on quality, service, and care
- A modern office with updated technology and systems
- A team culture built on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Opportunities to expand your knowledge and grow within a developing dental organization
- A role where your experience and financial expertise can have a meaningful impact on practice performance
What You’ll Do:
As our Business Team Member / Patient Financial Coordinator, you’ll serve as a key resource for the practice’s financial and revenue cycle workflows.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Managing dental insurance billing and ensuring clean, timely claim submission
- Following up on outstanding, denied, rejected, or underpaid insurance claims
- Monitoring insurance and patient accounts receivable and working accounts toward resolution
- Reviewing aging reports and identifying balances requiring follow-up
- Posting and reconciling insurance payments, EOBs, ERAs, and EFT activity
- Reviewing contractual adjustments, patient responsibility, credit balances, and account discrepancies
- Managing patient billing, statements, outstanding balances, and account follow-up
- Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits and maintaining accurate insurance information in Dentrix
- Reviewing patient accounts and insurance estimates for accuracy
- Preparing corrected claims, appeals, attachments, narratives, and additional payer documentation
- Supporting provider credentialing, payer enrollment, and related follow-up as assigned
- Identifying revenue cycle trends, barriers, and unresolved issues and communicating them to practice leadership
- Maintaining accurate documentation and consistent follow-through on assigned accounts and work queues
Because this is a dual role, you’ll also help support normal Business Team operations when needed, including:
- Answering phones, texts, and patient communications
- Greeting and assisting patients
- Scheduling and confirming appointments
- Reviewing treatment plans and estimated patient responsibility
- Collecting copayments and outstanding balances
- Supporting productive doctor and hygiene schedules
- Assisting with daily financial controls and front-office workflows
- Providing cross-functional Business Team coverage based on patient and practice needs
What We’re Looking For:
- 2+ years of dental revenue cycle management experience required, including experience with areas such as dental insurance billing, accounts receivable management, claims follow-up, and patient billing
- Strong working knowledge of dental insurance benefits, EOBs/ERAs, claims, CDT codes, and payer processes
- Experience reviewing and resolving outstanding, rejected, denied, or underpaid dental claims
- Strong understanding of patient account balances and dental accounts receivable
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow-up deadlines
- Confidence communicating insurance and financial information clearly and professionally with patients
- A reliable team player who is comfortable balancing focused revenue cycle work with day-to-day Business Team responsibilities
- Strong written documentation and follow-through
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
- Dental practice management software experience required; Dentrix experience strongly preferred
- Experience with payer portals, electronic claims, claim attachments, and EFT/ERA reconciliation preferred
- Credentialing and payer enrollment experience is a plus
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday–Thursday, with Fridays based on practice needs.
