Full Job Description

At Hauschild SpeedMixer Inc., we design and deliver high-performance mixing solutions used in demanding technical applications. As we grow, we are looking for a hands-on Technical Buyer to build and manage our supply base for critical components.

This is a high-impact, highly autonomous role where you will directly influence cost, quality, and delivery performance across our products.

What You’ll Do

Own sourcing end-to-end

· Identify and qualify suppliers for:

Precision machined parts
Sheet metal and fabricated assemblies
Surface coatings & finishing
Electrical and electromechanical components

· Manage RFQs, compare quotes, and make fast, practical supplier decisions

Work directly from engineering data
Read and interpret drawings and specs
Catch issues early (tolerances, materials, manufacturability)
Make things happen
Follow up on quotes, samples, production parts
Solve supplier bottlenecks in real time
Own supplier relationships
Build a small but strong and reliable supplier base
Push for better pricing and lead times
Handle onboarding basics (contracts, terms, compliance)
Create the process as you go
Set up simple but effective workflows (RFQs, tracking, vendor lists)
Keep things lean — avoid unnecessary complexity

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have

Experience sourcing technical components:
Machining, fabrication, coatings, electrical parts
Ability to read technical drawings and specs independently
Comfortable operating without structured processes
Strong urgency + ownership mindset
Negotiation skills and cost awareness
Willing to be hands-on (emails, calls, follow-ups, problem solving)

Nice-to-Have

Mandarin Chinese (spoken) for supplier communication
Experience sourcing internationally (especially Asia)
Familiarity with small/medium manufacturing environments

You will thrive if you:

Move fast and be accountable
Solve problems instead of escalating them
Balance speed vs. cost vs. quality pragmatically
Are comfortable wearing multiple hats

What Success Looks Like (first 6 Months)

Critical suppliers identified and active
Quick RFQ turnaround time
Key parts sourced with competitive pricing and stable lead times
Basic supplier network established (US + international as needed)
Early cost savings or improved margins identified
