Watercrafters has been setting the standard for professional service and quality products for Montgomery County residential pool owners since 1982. Our Service Department is one of the best trained, highly skilled teams in the industry.
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Service Technician Helper / Laborer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist experienced service technicians in performing Pool Openings and Closings, installing, repairing, and maintaining swimming pools and pool systems. Your energetic approach and willingness to learn will contribute to delivering exceptional service to our customers. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while developing valuable skills in technical trades.
Duties
- Support service technicians by preparing work areas, gathering tools, and assisting with equipment setup and breakdown
- Be able to follow instructions and direction from lead Technician
- Load Truck with products and special parts needed for the day- daily and assist with tracking inventory and use items.
- Assist technician throughout the day: carry supplies and tools, keep truck organized between jobs, make sure the jobsite stays clean and orderly, and keep a list of parts and chemicals used during the day.
- For Pool Openings and Closings: Assist with the following: Removal of pool cover, empty watertubes, lower cover anchors, skim and vacuum pool, store winter products where customers requests or indicated by technician, hose/bucket/blow the pool deck, pull plugs on instruction, etc. during closings fill water tubes, raise the cover anchors, put on the pool ocver, skim and vacuum pool, store summer products/supplies where requested, hose/bucket/blow deck, plug lines when indicated, etc.
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of pool equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and proper handling of tools and parts. Reduce loss
- Learn to work cohesively and anticipate the needs of technician
- Support in-related tasks such as lifting, moving materials, or assisting with system upgrades
- No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided for all tasks
- Basic mechanical knowledge or familiarity with basic tools a plus
- Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and good communication skills are essential to succeed in this role
- Speed is important but keeping with quality control guidelines
- Manage Trash and recycling from the truck and dispose of appropriately and correctly
- Prepare the truck for the next day when returning to shop
Reliability:
· Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather. Come prepared to face all conditions.
· Consistent and dependable Attendance is a MUST
· Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly with team members and customers when needed.
· Clearly and respectfully follow directions given by lead Technician
Customer Service:
· Provide friendly and accurate customer service. Exceeding customer expectations (pick-up/organize lawn furniture, rollup garden hoses, organize pool toys, etc.)
· Clean customers' yard after service has been provided – bring trash and debris back to throw away.
· Always maintain a professional neat, and clean appearance.
No cell phone allowed on customer property-strictly enforced
Learning expectations:
· Assist in retrieving tools and supplies as directed by a technician
· Assist in performing basic pool openings & Assist in performing basic winterizations
· Assist in Equipment Installations
· Use Deck-vac and Power-vac System to clean pool
· Backwash/clean filter-Identify and Operate basic components of the filtration system
· Learn to Evaluate and rebuild filter grid assemblies & Perform grid and cartridge cleanings.
· Become knowledgeable in water chemistry and chemical maintenance
· Be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
· Be able to work in a fast pace, fast-moving work environment
Valid Driver's License is Required with a clean driving record
Be able to Drive large work Van
Meet at main location then from main location job is performed at various customers' pools.
Current Work Schedule:
-Mon-Sat – April– June (7:30/45am-6/7pm)
-Mon-Fri - June- August, November (7:30/45am-4/5pm)
-Mon-Sat – Sept.– Oct. (7:30/45am-6/7pm)
5-6 days work week expected
-This is a Temporary/seasonal work March through October/November
