Full Job Description

Job Overview
Mercer Flanagan, is a very casual local CPA firm in Frederick, Maryland, provides Tax & Accounting Services for Individuals, small businesses, Estates & Nonprofits Across Frederick county and surronding area. Visit our website for more information on the firm at www.MercerFlanagan.com. This is a Hybrid position with about 50% of time in office.

Position Responsibilities:

Responsible for interviewing clients and reviewing tax returns for clients, ensuring that they comply with relevant tax laws and regulations
Responsible for leading a small team of tax professionals, delegating tasks and responsibilities, and overseeing the work of your team members
Providing consulting services to clients on various tax-related issues such as mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, and corporate restructuring
Conduct tax research to stay up-to-date with changing tax laws and regulations and identify opportunities for tax planning
Manage client relationships and ensure that clients are satisfied with the services provided by your team
Training and mentoring team members

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Recent experience working in a public accounting firm
5+ recent experience years of federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in accounting
CPA is required
Experience in S-Corp, Partnership returns, LLC and Individual returns and Quickbooks. Experience in trusts and estates and non-profit a plus but not a must.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology
Experience managing and developing a team of 4-5 preparers a plus.
Very friendly, fun and casual atmosphere. This position is full time during tax season (up to 55-hours and very flexible after tax season) and part time after tax season (around 24-28 hours)

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 – 40.0 per week
