Position Overview:
The Production Technician, Senior, is responsible for all aspects of plant processing from postcrop harvest through packaging and labeling of the final product ready for customer sale in
accordance with local and district laws, regulations, and standards set by the Company. These responsibilities include post-harvest tasks including the drying and curing stage all the way
through trimming, packaging, and labeling the product. The Processing Technician, Senior provides leadership, training, and coaching to the production team, strives to increase productivity, and acts with professional regard to the management and use of all production facilities and processing equipment.
Major Areas of Responsibility include:
- Assists in the post-harvest plant processing of cannabis
- Responsible for day-to-day task organization and delegation
- Provide direction, training, and coaching to Production Technicians to ensure tasks are completed correctly and on time
- Fan leaf removal, harvest, drying, trimming, curing, weighing, packaging, labeling, recording, inspection of product in addition to; cleaning and sanitation
- Transport harvested plants to drying room and hang to be dried
- Examines plants for signs of pests or disease
- Hand trims and/or operates a trimming machine to remove excess plant material
- Weighs, packages, labels, records/tracks cannabis for distribution
- Examines plants for signs of pests or disease
- Receives instructions and assists with tasks delegated by the Production Supervisor and management team
- Process dispensary and wholesale orders
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory
- Operates automated machinery and resolves issues
- Required to operate remediation equipment
- Works in a quick and efficient manner
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
- Maintains a culture of professionalism and service
- Communicates and works with leadership to address issues as they arise
- Ensures daily compliance with policies including but not limited to, state compliance, security protocols, access protocols, dress code and work schedules
- Responsible for adherence to SOPs
- Complies with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):
- All applicants must be at least 21 years of age
- 2-4 years’ cultivation and or processing experience in a cannabis/manufacturing environment
- Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope production activities
- Thorough understanding of state and local cannabis regulations and how they apply to cultivation and production operations
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Effective time- management and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment
- Basic scientific understanding of weights, measurement, packaging, and quality control
- Ability to operate equipment with speed and precision
- The ability to organize and prioritize work
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and develop others and manage conflict
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Standing/sitting for long periods of time
- Evening/holiday/weekend work may be required.

Additional Abilities Required:
- The ability to work in a hot, humid environment on concrete for long periods of time, performing manual labor associated with plant care. Exposure to pollen, dust, and plant particles due to the handling of raw plant materials.
- The job requires physical activity, including prolonged standing, repetitive bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds (or more with a coworker). Good visual acuity, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and ability to perform repetitive motions with accuracy is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
