Department: Design

Reports To: Sales Through Design Manager

FLSA: Exempt

Job Summary:

Structural Building Solutions is seeking truss designers with at least 8 + years of experience to join our team. As a Designer, you will be responsible for designing and building components such as manufactured roofs and floor trusses. Your duties will include creating framing layouts from a set of construction plans and analyzing the framing components using engineering software. You will support the project from design to production and will be responsible for coordinating with sales personnel. Some training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Design high-quality floor/roof for residential and commercial projects.
Read architectural prints to create precise roof and floor layouts.
Utilize engineering software to analyze components.
Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize designs.
Calculate and apply area load conditions as specified or required by local codes or jurisdiction requirements.
Communicate clearly and effectively with all team members.
Participate in a positive company culture demonstrated by prompt attendance, reliability, and positive interactions with teammates and co-workers.
Demonstrates a willingness and interest to learn and apply technical principles, construction standards, and company guidelines.
Performs other duties as needed or otherwise assigned by the Design Manager.

Required Education and Experience

A high school diploma or GED is required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. 8+ years of experience designing trusses in the construction industry preferred. MiTek experience preferred.

Work Authorization

Employment at Structural Building Solutions requires verifiable authorization to work in the United States of America.
