Full Job Description

Director of Quality Assurance – Clinical Diagnostic Laboratories nuCARE Medical Solutions, Inc. — Frederick, MD (Hybrid; travel required)

Pay range: $150,000–$185,000/year base, a tiered new-business commission — 15% of first-year contract value on internally sourced leads (including leads developed with our VP of Sales), 20% on leads you self-generate — on client engagements you close. Your year-one quota is 10 new self-generated client accounts. Total target compensation: $204,000–$324,000+ in year one, scaling with the new business you bring in.

nuCARE Medical Solutions is a national laboratory consulting and management firm helping healthcare providers launch and operate compliant, high-performing clinical laboratories through laboratory buildout, laboratory management, technical oversight, validation, and procurement services. We’re building a new Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance division — and we need a founding Director who can both lead the practice and win the clients that build it.

This isn’t a “maintain the status quo” QA role, and it isn’t a purely technical role either. You’ll design our compliance service offerings from scratch, become the go-to regulatory expert for our clients, personally originate and close new client engagements, and build a team as the division grows — all while reporting directly to the CEO.

What you’ll do: - Personally identify, pursue, and close new client engagements — this role owns a year-one quota of 10 new client accounts, not just service delivery - Work closely with our VP of Sales to generate and convert leads for the division, while also self-generating business through your own network and outreach - Launch and lead nuCARE’s new Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance consulting division - Serve as the senior expert on CLIA, CAP, COLA, and state clinical laboratory regulations - Run mock surveys, gap analyses, and inspection-readiness assessments for client laboratories - Build Quality Management Systems (QMS), SOPs, and proficiency testing programs for clients - Lead CAPA and remediation planning after inspection findings - Hire, train, and manage a team of regulatory consultants as the division scales - Partner with our lab buildout, laboratory management, technical oversight, validation, and procurement teams to bake compliance into every new lab launch, and cross-sell into existing nuCARE client relationships

What you bring: - Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biochemistry, or related field (Master’s preferred) - 10+ years in clinical laboratory QA/regulatory compliance, including 3-5+ years at Director level - ASCP certification (MLS, MT, or DLM) or equivalent - Deep knowledge of CLIA, CAP, COLA, and state laboratory licensure — prior surveyor/inspector experience a big plus - Experience building or running a QMS in a clinical, molecular, or reference lab - A track record of business development or sales in a consulting/advisory setting — you need to be comfortable generating and closing your own client pipeline - Comfort building something new — startup, new lab, or new practice-area experience preferred - Willingness to travel to client and prospective-client sites (~25-40%)
