We’re looking for an Ecommerce Marketing Specialist to help execute email and SMS campaigns, support product promotions, develop marketing content, and contribute to the continued growth of our ecommerce business.
Note: This is a full-time, in-office position based at our Frederick, MD headquarters. This is not a remote or hybrid role.
Role Overview
The Ecommerce Marketing Specialist will be a hands-on member of the Monument Metals marketing team, helping plan, create, coordinate, and execute marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
Email marketing will be a significant part of this position, so hands-on experience building and sending email campaigns is important. However, this is a broader ecommerce marketing role that may also include SMS marketing, website content, product promotions, landing pages, campaign planning, and other marketing initiatives.
You’ll work closely with our CMO, marketing team, creative team, leadership, and technical team to bring promotions and marketing ideas to life.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a few years of digital or ecommerce marketing experience who is ready to take on more responsibility, broaden their skills, and grow with a successful ecommerce company.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, schedule, test, and send email marketing campaigns
- Assist with SMS campaign creation and scheduling
- Help manage the weekly marketing and promotional calendar
- Create and organize marketing content for email, SMS, website pages, landing pages, promotions, and other channels
- Write and edit promotional copy, product messaging, headlines, calls to action, and supporting campaign content
- Build audience segments based on customer interests, engagement, purchase history, and other behaviors
- Support promotions for gold, silver, coins, bars, bullion, and related product categories
- Help build and improve automated email and SMS journeys, including welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, winback, and retention campaigns
- Coordinate campaign products, offers, deadlines, links, messaging, and creative assets
- Work with designers to develop email layouts, banners, graphics, and other promotional materials
- Collaborate with the ecommerce and technical teams on landing pages, homepage promotions, category pages, and onsite merchandising
- Proofread and quality-check campaigns and marketing materials before publication
- Help update website content, promotional pages, and campaign messaging
- Monitor campaign performance, including engagement, conversions, revenue, and customer behavior
- Prepare campaign reports and identify opportunities for improvement
- Help organize promotions based on inventory, pricing, market activity, and customer demand
- Use AI tools to assist with research, content creation, campaign ideas, segmentation, and workflow efficiency
- Support additional marketing projects and initiatives as needed
What We’re Looking For
- 2–4 years of experience in ecommerce marketing, email marketing, digital marketing, content marketing, or a related role
- Hands-on experience using an email marketing platform such as Attentive, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, or a similar platform
- Experience building, testing, and sending email campaigns
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Ability to create clear and persuasive marketing content across multiple channels
- Familiarity with audience segmentation, automated journeys, and customer lifecycle marketing
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple campaigns, projects, and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail, especially when reviewing pricing, product information, promotional terms, and campaign links
- Comfortable reviewing campaign performance data and using it to improve future marketing
- Ability to work collaboratively with creative, technical, ecommerce, and leadership teams
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving ecommerce environment
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar
- A willingness to learn about precious metals, investing, and our customers
Nice to Have
- Experience with Attentive, Klaviyo, Mailchimp or similar
- Experience creating SMS marketing campaigns
- Experience with Magento, Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, or another ecommerce platform
- Experience creating website, landing page, blog, or promotional content
- Experience in retail, direct-to-consumer ecommerce, collectibles, investing, or another product-focused business
- Familiarity with customer retention, VIP segments, winback campaigns, or loyalty marketing
- Basic knowledge of Google Analytics or ecommerce reporting
- Experience working with designers or editing email templates
- Basic HTML knowledge for email marketing
