WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Claims Adjuster for Underwriting, the following will be your duties:
- You will be an unbiased third party to evaluate potential client cases. You will assess the cases' likelihood of winning and estimate the projected settlement amount to advise us on the amount we should offer them. Case types include but are not limited to car accidents, slips and falls, premises, wrongful death, medical malpractice, etc.
- You will work with our Sales and Medical teams to evaluate the strength of our pre-settlement funding cases, determining approval or denials.
- Evaluate personal injury cases and assess their likelihood of a successful outcome and projected settlement value.
- Review legal documentation, medical records, police reports, insurance information, and other supporting evidence.
- Analyze liability, damages, insurance coverage, prior accidents, existing liens, and injury severity to determine case value.
- Focus primarily on Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA), Premises Liability, and Slip and Fall cases.
- Provide underwriting recommendations to support funding decisions.
- Maintain accurate case documentation while ensuring timely and high-quality evaluations.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Minimum 6 years of experience as claims adjuster, case manager or in a comparable personal injury claims /case evaluation role
- Strong knowledge of Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA), Premises Liability, and Slip and Fall claims.
- Preferred: Prior experience in medical funding, factoring, or legal finance.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Someone with an analytical mind, skilled at looking at many factors and a myriad of information to solve issues and problems
- Attention to detail is key: every detail in an insurance policy can affect the decision to offer coverage and missing one can cost the company money.
- Comfort with computers and using mathematics on a daily basis.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and telephone manners.
- Cool and calm under pressure, you follow through on tasks quickly and efficiently.
