Please join us if you are looking to become a full-time EMT or Paramedic on 6/10 at our Capital Health Special Practices location at 100 Kevin Johnson Blvd. in Bordentown, NJ from 5-9pm for an open-house style hiring event! Managers will be present to speak with for the duration of the event.

Performs patient assessment and provides basic life support services to patients during both intra-facility transport and 911 assignments. Completes all patient related as well as ancillary paperwork in accordance with hospital policy. Maintains ambulance in a state of readiness for any assignment. Demonstrates safety in all aspects of daily activities.
Education:High school diploma or equivalency. New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or National Registry EMT Certification. Non-NJ certified EMTs will be required to obtain NJ certification within one (1) year of employment. If unable to obtain NJ reciprocity it must be reported and be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Primary PA providers will be required to maintain PA EMT certifications including EMSVO.
Experience:Previous EMT experience preferred. Must be 18 years old and have a non- probationary or unrestricted Drivers License.
Other Credentials:AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider,Drivers License,Emergency Medical Technician,Hazmat Awareness,ICS-100,ICS-200,NIMS,NIMS-700
Knowledge and Skills:Basic computer skills.
Special Training:NJ EMT certification by the NREMT, or the State of New York, or any member state of the Atlantic EMS Council, including Delaware, the district of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. NJ EMT certification by the NREMT, or the State of New York, or any member state of the Atlantic EMS Council, including Delaware, the district of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. NON- NJ EMTS with National Registry will obtain NJ reciprocity within 3 months. NON-NJEMTS without National registry will obtain NR-EMT and NJ reciprocity within 6 months.

- Responds to dispatched emergency assignments expeditiously. Maintains a state of readiness to be able to respond to an assignment within sixty seconds under most circumstances.
- Implements proper patient care procedures safely and rapidly by using accurate assessment skills pertaining to the illness or injury. Assures BLS procedures preformed on patients are done properly using knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-specific patient care.
- Identifies and manages rapidly changing situations of an emergency patient care situation effectively. Assesses patient's current condition through physical and verbal exam via patient or others present.
- Collects all available pertinent patient information form patient, family, friends, medical records, and medications.
- Transfers the patient safely to appropriate care provider and facility providing the receiving staff with a report. Completes all paperwork requirements during patient transfer and in compliance with departmental policies.
- Completes an accurate patient care record including demographic information, clinical findings, history, medications, allergies, treatment rendered, and any changes during transport. Documents and relays accurately the patient's medications, dosage, and frequency to assure medical reconciliation whenever conditions permit.
- Provides a comprehensive written incident report describing any unusual event in accordance with hospital and department policy.
- Submits PTO requests in a timely manner to maximize scheduling efficiency. Adjusts schedule as operations dictate. If per diem, adheres to departmental policy regarding availability and scheduling.
- Practices safe environmental and patient contact principles. Adheres to universal precautions when risk of contact with bodily fluids is anticipated.
- Drives defensively while obeying New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission laws and follows emergency and non-emergency driving principles and practices that promote safe driving and minimize risk of injury or incident to life or property.
- Completes a vehicle check sheet accurately and timely and assures safety concerns are addressed. Assures equipment is well maintained kept clean. Assures inventory of necessary supplies is maintained.
- Uses downtime to address global department needs or personal education.

Paramedic
Performs basic and advanced patient assessment and provides life support services to ensure patient care occurs at the scene and on route to the hospital. Identifies situations that require immediate intervention. Implements prescribed or delegated emergency measures safely, rapidly, and accurately. Validates the appropriateness of unusual medical control orders and functions as a patient advocate to assure medical control is aware of the patients' present condition.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid NJ or PA Paramedic license based on location. National Registry accepted but requires state reciprocity submission within 45 days of hire.
Experience: One year EMS experience or pre-hospital emergency related experience.
Other Credentials: AHA ACLS-Adv Cardiac Life Supp, AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider, AHA PALS, Driver's License, NJ MICU Paramedic, PEPP ADV

- Adheres to approved standing and radio failure orders as appropriate.
- Assures orders received are appropriate for the patients condition. Requests orders tactfully to adequately address patients needs including appropriate pain management.
- Identifies need for immediate response based on patient assessment. Repeats back to the medical control physician all verbal orders to confirm medication or dosages and treatment procedures.
