Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Expert – AI Trainer

Job Summary

In this role as a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Expert supporting AI Training and evaluation initiatives, you will apply your expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, modeling, and business planning to help improve next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world financial and strategic business input.

This is an hourly-paid contract opportunity, not a traditional full-time FP&A or finance position. Contributors will work on project-based AI training tasks while collaborating remotely with distributed teams in a flexible work environment. No prior AI experience is required — your financial expertise is what matters.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze complex financial, operational, and business datasets to identify trends and generate actionable insights.
Contribute to AI training and evaluation projects through financial reasoning tasks, response evaluation, rubric development, and related workflows.
Develop, refine, and validate financial models, forecasts, budgeting frameworks, and scenario analyses.
Create structured rubrics and evaluation criteria using domain expertise to improve AI model performance and accuracy.
Prepare, review, and assess financial reporting concepts under US GAAP and IFRS standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic planning, financial decision-making, and business analysis initiatives.
Evaluate financial controls, compliance considerations, and reporting practices to ensure technical accuracy.
Provide expertise on SaaS business metrics, including ARR, MRR, CAC, LTV, retention, and growth performance indicators.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, audit, investment banking, corporate finance, or SaaS finance.
Investment banking experience is highly preferred.
Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and business performance evaluation.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly and effectively.
Strong analytical mindset, quantitative reasoning skills, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently in a remote and distributed environment.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA, CFA, CMA, or similar advanced financial certification.
7+ years of overall professional experience across finance, accounting, FP&A, or related disciplines.
In-depth experience with SaaS metrics, subscription business models, and performance analytics.
Familiarity with AI model evaluation or AI training-related finance and accounting tasks is a plus.
