Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer - Industrial Automation and Controls (Relocation Available)

Location: Midwest (Onsite, 1st Shift)
Compensation: 70K - 95K Base + Relocation Support

What You Will Be Doing

You will play a key role in designing, maintaining, and improving electrical and automation systems:

Lead electrical and automation projects from concept through completion
Program, troubleshoot, and modify Allen Bradley PLC systems (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix)
Support HMI and SCADA systems and industrial communication networks
Analyze and interpret wiring diagrams, circuit designs, and electrical drawings
Troubleshoot and repair control systems, motors, drives, and automation equipment
Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to improve system performance
Oversee contractors and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
Support equipment startup, shutdown, and commissioning activities
Maintain compliance with OSHA, NEC, and NFPA70E standards
Assist with power distribution systems and industrial electrical infrastructure
Support steam boiler and related automation systems where applicable

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for engineers who are hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a real-world industrial setting.

Core qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in industrial electrical or automation environments
Strong experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting
Experience with motor controls, VFDs, and industrial control systems
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar tools
Solid understanding of electrical safety standards (OSHA, NEC, NFPA70E)

Nice to have:

Experience with HMI or SCADA systems
Exposure to industrial networks and communication protocols
Experience working with boilers, steam systems, or heavy industrial equipment

Work Environment

1st shift schedule
On-site role in a production environment
Hands-on work with real equipment and systems
