JOB TITLE: Support Scientist/Technical Writer (Marketing)
LOCATION: Fremont, California
JOB OBJECTIVE:
Under direct supervision from the Marketing Manager, the Support Scientist Technical Writer will provide product recommendations, technical advice, and troubleshooting for customers and distributors. As a technical writer you will work with our scientists and marketing team members to create and update official product documents as well as creative marketing materials. This includes but is not limited to product information sheets, safety data sheets, flyers, and brochures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- With guidance from our scientific team, provide product technical support and product recommendations to customers and distributors by phone and email.
- Help investigate potentially non-conforming products based on customer feedback.
- Create and revise customer-facing documents including product information sheets and safety data sheets.
- Create and edit website content including blogs, highlighted citations, and technical resources.
- Communicate with research, marketing, and customer service teams to provide insight on customer needs and potential room for improvement.
- Attend conferences and tradeshows as needed for marketing and customer support.
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related life science field. Knowledge of life science research markets with knowledge of competitors. Experience with fluorescence-based technologies a plus.
JOB CONDITIONS:
This is a full-time onsite position. Work is carried out in a typical office setting. Work may require frequent sitting at a computer for long periods of time. Work may also require frequent standing and walking for long periods of time when attending conferences.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
PhD in a related life science field or Master’s degree with 4+ years in a laboratory research background.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary depending on experience/education $90,000 to $100,000. Standard company-paid benefits (health insurance, 401k matching, sick, vacation and holiday)
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
