Summary
Alkon Corporation is a leading company in the industry, known for our commitment to quality and excellence in manufacturing. We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support and improve product quality, manufacturing processes, and compliance across operations. This role partners closely with manufacturing, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure products are built right the first time while supporting continuous improvement initiatives in accordance with company standards, Lean manufacturing practices, and ISO 9001 procedures.
Essential Functions
· Support manufacturing operations by providing quality engineering expertise to ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
· Develop, maintain, and improve quality processes, procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans.
· Analyze quality data, nonconformances, scrap, and rework trends; lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
· Support first article inspections, first-piece inspections, and in-process quality checks.
· Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to support new product introductions, process changes, and continuous improvement projects.
· Assist with problem-solving related to manufacturing quality issues and customer concerns.
· Support internal and external audits, including ISO 9001 audits, customer audits, and internal compliance reviews.
· Monitor and improve process capability, control plans, and risk assessments as applicable.
· Support supplier quality activities as needed, including issue resolution and corrective actions.
· Train and support associates on quality requirements, standard work, and inspection methods.
· Communicate quality performance, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership.
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred.
· Prior experience in a manufacturing quality or quality engineering role preferred.
· Experience working in an ISO 9001 certified environment preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Technical Knowledge
· Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and work instructions.
· Knowledge of inspection methods, measurement techniques, and quality tools.
· Familiarity with root cause analysis, corrective action methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.
· Understanding of process control, risk assessment, and quality documentation.
· Computer Skills
· Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
· Ability to work with ERP systems such as Macola for quality and production data (training provided).
Quality & Documentation
· Ability to develop, maintain, and audit quality documentation, procedures, and records.
· Ability to support compliance with ISO 9001 and internal quality standards.

Physical Demands
· Must be able to lift or move a minimum of 35 pounds.
· Exposure to welding fumes, sparks, heat, and industrial noise.
· Required use of appropriate PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time, including up to 8 hours Must be able to frequently bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements
Hours of Operation
Normal business hours are Monday through Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm. However, hours may vary depending on shift needs.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
