Job Title: Food and Beverage Service Manager
Supervisor: Club House Manager
General Job Description:
As part of the Leadership Team, the Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for leading the Club's daily member dining services, club events, outside events & tournaments, as well as any other food and beverage efforts throughout the Club or on the property. The Food and Beverage Manager works closely with the Club House Manager to ensure a quality dining experience for members and guests. The Food and Beverage Manager also works closely with the Special Events Manager for the production of all member and outside events. The position is one that requires a highly visible “hands on” manager who is expected to engage members and lead/support service staff at all times. In addition to management of staff, the Food and Beverage Manager will regularly perform Server/Bartender duties as necessary. This person will directly supervise the Service Team including Wait Staff, Banquet/event staff, Bar Staff and Beverage Cart Attendants. The Food and Beverage Manger will assist in the hiring process, training, and continued supervision of new and current teammates to ensure the needs and wants of members and guests are consistently met. The candidate must be an excellent communicator, have the personal interactive skills and maturity to instinctively know how to make members and guests feel welcome and comfortable, as well as provide effective leadership.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Is on the floor to oversee the dining room and beverage staff to ensure proper service and engage with the membership to achieve a service-oriented environment. Directly performs server and bartender duties regularly when necessary.
- Schedules the work hours for the food and beverage staff, and banquet staff according to anticipated needs and within the parameters of the annual operating budget. Takes corrective action as necessary to ensure that budget goals are met.
- Responsible for beverage cost performance and profit & loss results.
- Responsible for performing accurate monthly beverage inventory and mitigation of shrinkage.
- Serves as liaison between dining room and kitchen staff to ensure that meal production is prompt and well presented.
- Assures that all side-work and opening and closing procedures are accomplished and that the cleaning of equipment and storage areas is completed according to schedule.
- Recruits, trains, counsels, and supervises the food and beverage staff including temps.
- Works directly with the General Manager and Club House Manager to ensure an effective food and beverage training program and ensure that staff training is ongoing and comprehensive.
- Conducts comprehensive performance evaluations for all applicable staff.
- Ensures that the payroll procedures of bar and dining room staff are met to ensure that established labor expense administration and allocations are consistently followed.
- Designs floor plans and service sections in accordance with reservations.
- Ensures all daily member billing is correct.
- Tracks and reports daily cover counts.
- Receives and resolves complaints concerning food, beverage, and service and reports such complaints according to Club procedures.
- Works in conjunction with the Special Events Manager and Executive Chef with the set up and execution of private parties and Club events.
- Conducts monthly inventories of food, beverage, supplies, china, and glassware.
- Ensures that all procedural controls are maintained.
- Controls and maintains the operation of the POS.
- Ensures that all food and beverage staff are presentable, well-groomed, and in established uniforms at all times.
Qualifications:
Preferably 5 years of progressively increasing levels of responsibility in the food and beverage industry. Must be knowledgeable in food, wine, and spirits and be able to execute effective training programs to deliver a high level of services. This is a mid-level position in private club management and is ideal for a stable and career oriented individual who seeks to advance in the industry.
Must be personable, energetic, and engaging. A strong personal work ethic is required and the successful candidate will not be reluctant to put in the necessary hours to achieve the level of services desired by the Club. Outstanding interpersonal skills are required in order to interact professionally and effectively with members and staff and have the ability to express ideas clearly and precisely in oral and written forms.
Key Competencies:
Basic computer skills and experience with point-of sale-software, Staff Scheduling, Inventory Management, Basic Bartending Skills.

Pay: $70,350.00 - $75,000.00 per year
