Full Job Description

Outback Materials is a growing, family-owned ready-mix concrete company in the Central San Joaquin Valley. Outback operates from five plant locations in the Fresno area with operations in the foothills and mountain communities in the Central Sierras. As a Ready Mix Truck Driver, you will deliver concrete to some of Central California's most exciting construction projects. What Will Your Day Look Like?

When you arrive:

Perform a pre-trip vehicle inspection following DOT regulations
Record and report any mechanical issues to dispatch or plant personnel in keeping with a prevention mentality
Follow directions by dispatch, and receive a digital copy of your delivery ticket

When you load:

Align truck under the plant to load material
Visually inspect material after batching to ensure it conforms to target slump, volume, and composition. Communicate any errors with plant personnel
Retrieve paper tickets for customer
Set pressure on tag axle
Perform a visual inspection of the truck and clear debris before leaving the plant

When you are on delivery:

Safely, courteously, and efficiently deliver material to the customer in compliance with traffic laws and safe driving principles
Digitally update delivery statuses to ensure visibility by dispatch
Check job site for safety or maintenance hazards
Hang chutes (up to 60lbs) and control concrete discharge throughout the duration of the pour
Stay attentive to your surroundings
Courteously communicate with the customer to understand and fulfill their needs. Relay customer needs to dispatch if needed
Have customer sign ticket
Conform to all environmental regulations when washing out mixer upon completion of the job and follow customer instructions on washout procedure
Collect payment, if necessary

Before you leave:

Wash out and clean your truck in accordance with high standards of cleanliness
Fuel truck
Perform post-trip vehicle inspection and report any issues to dispatch for repair

What Will You Bring To Work?

A valid Class A license with a tanker endorsement with at least one-year commercial driving experience. No manual transmission restriction. Doubles/Triples endorsement preferred.
No recent moving or driving violations.
Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
Strong communication skills, with the ability to relate positively with coworkers
Strong work ethic and the ability to learn new abilities
A desire to master the basics
Attention to detail
Ability to climb a ladder
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
Spanish language skills are a plus
Prior experience in a concrete mixer is a plus

Up to $29/hour
