How you make a difference:
The Quality Assurance Coordinator supports quality improvement efforts by managing how performance data is collected, reviewed, and shared within a correctional health care setting. Working under the direction of site leadership, the position helps ensure records and documentation meet required protocols and health care standards. The role focuses on monitoring compliance and driving quality improvement activities tied to CalAIM programs. It plays an important part in evaluating performance and supporting accountability for care delivered to the justice-involved population.
Key Responsibilities:

Collects, analyzes, and oversees quality performance data and related data entry

Designs, conducts, and evaluates quality audits, reviews, and control plans

Performs and coordinates medical record and documentation reviews to abstract relevant data

Prepares and generates reports on performance against quality indicators and CalAIM metrics

Collaborates with leadership to address gaps, support training efforts, and implement corrective actions
Additional Details: Successful candidates should be skilled in healthcare quality assurance, auditing, data analysis, and regulatory compliance. They must be comfortable reviewing medical records, tracking CalAIM performance measures, identifying documentation or process gaps, and developing practical corrective action plans. Strong written communication, report preparation, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with clinical and operational leaders are essential. Candidates should also understand Medi-Cal requirements, CalAIM Justice-Involved initiatives, and quality improvement tools within a correctional healthcare environment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program AND At least one year of relevant healthcare experience AND Two or more years of quality assurance experience or a recognized quality certification, such as Green Belt, Certified Quality Technician, Quality Improvement Associate, or Quality Inspector AND Previous correctional or detention healthcare experience
