About Houston Dance Works

For over 15 years, Houston Dance Works has helped children build confidence through dance in a structured, encouraging environment.

Our mission is simple:
We build confidence through movement— teaching lessons that last far beyond the studio walls.

As our studio continues to grow, we are expanding our gymnastics and tumbling program to support dancers in developing strength, coordination, flexibility, and safe acrobatic technique.

Position Overview

Houston Dance Works is seeking a Gymnastics & Tumbling Program Leader to help lead and grow our gymnastics and tumbling department for the 2026–2027 season.

The program focuses primarily on:

Preschool Gymnastics (ages 3–6)
Elementary Tumbling (ages 6–10)
Acro and strength development for dancers

Our goal is to develop strong fundamentals, safe skill progressions, and confident movement.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and is excited to help shape a program while also leading and mentoring instructors.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching

Teach preschool gymnastics classes (ages 3–6)
Lead beginner and intermediate tumbling classes (ages 6–10)
Ensure safe spotting techniques and skill progressions
Create structured and engaging lesson plans

Program Leadership

Help develop curriculum and skill progressions
Maintain consistency and quality across classes
Train and mentor assistant instructors
Support the growth of the gymnastics and tumbling program
Collaborate with studio leadership on scheduling, program development, and progress reports

QualificationsRequired

3–5+ years of experience teaching gymnastics, tumbling, or acro
Strong understanding of safe skill progressions and spotting techniques
Experience working with young children (ages 3–10)
Ability to lead classes independently with strong classroom management
Comfort mentoring assistants and supporting other instructors

Preferred

5+ years experience
Background in gymnastics, cheer, acro, or tumbling programs
Experience working with dancers or in a dance studio environment
Interest in helping grow and develop a program

Schedule

Part-time evenings and/or Saturday classes depending on enrollment, with opportunity to expand as the program grows.
