SUMMARY:
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for leading the quality function for the Texas manufacturing operation by ensuring products consistently meet company and customer expectations. This position develops and maintains quality standards, oversees inspections, manages quality personnel, leads corrective and preventive actions, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and partners with Production, Engineering, Program Management, Purchasing, Shipping, and Operations to improve manufacturing performance. The Quality Control Manager serves as a strategic business partner to Operations Leadership by driving quality initiatives that improve customer satisfaction, operational performance, manufacturing efficiency, and long-term organizational growth. This position has the authority to stop production or shipments when quality standards are not met..
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Lead the Quality Control Department by providing direction, coaching, and performance management for Quality Inspectors and Quality Technicians.
· Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality standards, inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation.
· Oversee incoming, in-process, and final product inspections to ensure compliance with
· engineering drawings, customer specifications, Bills of Material, and company quality standards.
· Approve or reject products for shipment based on established quality standards and objective inspection results.
· Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring quality documentation, inspection records, and release documentation are accurate, complete, and properly maintained.
· Manage nonconforming materials and products, including containment, disposition, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
· Lead root cause investigations utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.
· Develop and monitor departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and utilize quality data to identify trends, reduce defects, minimize rework, and improve manufacturing performance.
· Investigate customer complaints, warranty claims, installation quality concerns, and field issues while coordinating timely corrective actions.
· Partner with Engineering, Production, Program Management, Purchasing, Shipping, and Operations to proactively identify and resolve quality issues throughout the manufacturing process.
· Support new product introductions, first article inspections, engineering changes, and process validation activities.
· Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving quality, increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and strengthening manufacturing processes.
· Conduct internal quality audits and support customer audits while ensuring compliance with company standards and customer requirements. .
· Promote standardized quality processes, inspection methodologies, and best practices throughout the organization.
· Develop supplier quality expectations, evaluate supplier performance, and coordinate supplier corrective actions when quality issues arise.
· Ensure all quality inspections, corrective actions, inspection records, release documentation, and quality metrics are accurately maintained within company systems, including INNERGY.
· Evaluate manufacturing processes and recommend improvements that improve product quality, reduce operational risk, and enhance customer satisfaction.
· Support organizational growth by developing scalable quality systems capable of supporting increased production, new customer programs, and future business expansion.
· Develop and deliver quality training programs while coaching employees on workmanship standards, inspection procedures, and continuous improvement.
· Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing operation.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages employees within the Quality Department.
Responsibilities include:
- Hiring and onboarding employees.
- Training and developing team members.
- Assigning and directing daily work.
- Conducting performance evaluations.
- Coaching and counseling employees.
- Addressing performance concerns.
- Recommending disciplinary action when appropriate.
- Building a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Quality Management, or a related field preferred.
· Minimum five (5) years of Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience within a manufacturing environment.
· Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience managing quality personnel.
· Experience in custom fabrication, millwork, metal fabrication, architectural products, or similar manufacturing environments preferred.
· Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, Bills of Material, and manufacturing documentation.
· Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and quality auditing.
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
· Experience utilizing ERP systems such as INNERGY or comparable manufacturing systems.
· Strong analytical, organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and inspect products throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Frequently exposed to manufacturing environments, including noise, dust, machinery, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to safely perform inspections utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Occasional weekend or extended work hours may be required to support production schedules and customer commitments.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
