Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in IV infusion and mobile IV therapy to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide personalized, high-quality patient care in diverse settings, including patients' homes, clinics, and community environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for enhancing patient well-being through innovative nursing practices. As an RN in this position, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care tailored to individual patient needs.

Duties

Administer intravenous (IV) infusions accurately and safely, including hydration therapy, medication delivery, and nutritional support.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine suitability for IV therapy and develop individualized treatment plans.
Utilize aseptic techniques and maintain strict infection control protocols during all procedures to ensure patient safety.
Educate patients on IV therapy processes, potential side effects, and post-treatment care instructions to promote understanding and compliance.
Manage documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring accurate medical records and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Coordinate with healthcare providers to adjust treatment plans based on patient response and clinical observations.
Provide mobile nursing services across various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, and private residences.
Monitor vital signs, assess patient comfort levels, and respond promptly to any adverse reactions or complications during infusion sessions.
Maintain equipment sterilization standards and ensure all supplies are prepared in accordance with sterile processing guidelines.
Engage in ongoing professional development by staying current with advancements in IV therapy techniques, infection control practices, and relevant medical terminology.

Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state certification.
Proven experience administering IV infusions and working with diverse patient populations across acute care environments such as ICU, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth.
Knowledge of aseptic technique, infection control protocols, and sterile processing procedures.
Experience working in outpatient settings such as clinics or home care environments is highly desirable.
Strong assessment skills with the ability to evaluate patient physiology and respond effectively to acute pain management needs.
Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Ability to work independently in mobile settings while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
Additional skills such as phlebotomy, medication administration including injections, venipuncture, catheter care, and laboratory specimen collection are preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to cardiology (e.g., catheterization), infectious disease care, geriatrics including memory care or long-term care experience is advantageous.
