Job Title: Attendance Case Manager
Pay Program: Support Staff, Exempt
Pay Range: Range 4 $60,401 - $67,074
Work Year: Year-Round (260 Days / 8 Hours)
Reports to: Director of Social, Emotional, and Behavior Services
Direct Reports: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director of Social, Emotional, and Behavior Services, this position serves as the lead coordinator for district attendance intervention services. The Attendance Case Manager oversees the attendance support process for identified students and families, including student identification, barrier assessment, intervention planning, service coordination, progress monitoring, and case closure. The Attendance Case Manager is responsible for ensuring that identified student and family needs are addressed through the appropriate combination of school, district, community, and family support. Working collaboratively with students, families, school staff, advocates, social workers, and community partners, this position coordinates services, monitors progress, and supports positive attendance and educational outcomes.

Job Responsibility Description
1. Attendance Case Identification, Assessment, and Prioritization

Identify and prioritize students for attendance intervention services using district-established criteria, attendance data, and early warning indicators.

Conduct assessments to identify attendance barriers, strengths, and support needs.
-
Determine appropriate next steps based on identified student and family needs.
-
Establish attendance goals and determine appropriate interventions and supports.
-
Apply district-established entry, transition, and exit criteria for attendance support services.
2. Service Coordination and Case Oversight
-
Serve as the lead coordinator for assigned attendance cases.
-
Coordinate attendance intervention efforts among advocates, school staff, social workers, mental health providers, and community partners.
-
Coordinate, monitor, and adjust intervention activities to ensure supports are aligned to student and family needs.

Facilitate communication among stakeholders to support coordinated service delivery.

Ensure identified barriers are addressed through appropriate school, district, community, and family supports.
3. Student and Family Support Planning

Meet with students, families, and school teams to review attendance concerns and support plans.

Facilitate access to school, district, and community resources.
-
Support problem-solving efforts related to complex attendance barriers.
-
Participate in direct intervention activities when necessary to support case progress.
4. School Partnership and Systems Support
-
Collaborate with school teams to support attendance improvement efforts.
-
Share attendance trends, intervention outcomes, and recommendations with district and school stakeholders.

Support re-entry planning and transition planning for students returning from chronic absenteeism, truancy interventions, alternative placements, or other significant attendance disruptions.
- Provide consultation regarding attendance intervention strategies, available resources, and best practices.

Serve as a liaison with legal, judicial, and community partners when attendance cases require formal intervention, court involvement, or other legal action.
- Provide guidance regarding compulsory attendance requirements, attendance intervention processes, and available attendance support resources.
- Maintain current knowledge of attendance intervention practices, community resources, applicable attendance laws, and district procedures to support effective service coordination and case management.
5. Documentation, Data Monitoring, and Reporting

Maintain accurate case management records and service documentation.

Monitor intervention implementation and attendance outcomes.

Analyze attendance data to identify trends, emerging needs, and opportunities for intervention.

Generate reports and recommendations for district leadership and stakeholders.

Evaluate the effectiveness of attendance interventions and make recommendations for service adjustments based on student progress and outcomes.
- Facilitate case transition and closure when attendance goals have been achieved and district-established criteria have been met.
6. Other Duties

Education and Experience
Acceptable demonstration of acceptable education and/or experience will be at the sole discretion of the District.

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Counseling, or related field required

Specialized courses in education, social work or criminal justice preferred

Preference given for bilingual Spanish candidates

Prior experience working required within the juvenile justice system, or working with high risk students required
Licenses, Registrations or Certifications

Criminal background check required for hire

Valid Colorado driver's license

Knowledge of attendance intervention practices, student engagement strategies, and factors that contribute to chronic absenteeism and truancy.
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development and the social, emotional, behavioral, family, and environmental factors that may impact student attendance and school success.
