Monkey Business Café is the social enterprise of HART Community Homes, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young adults through workforce development, life skills, and meaningful employment opportunities. Through our café, food truck, and farm, we provide hands-on job training while serving fresh, locally grown food to our community.
We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and compassionate Farm Worker / Food Truck Driver & Cook who is passionate about fresh food, community service, and making a positive impact.
Position Summary
This unique position combines farming, cooking, and food truck operations. You’ll help grow fresh produce, prepare delicious meals, and serve customers throughout the community while supporting the mission of HART Community Homes by helping create meaningful learning and employment opportunities for the young adults we serve.
Essential Responsibilities
Farm Operations
- Plant, cultivate, and harvest fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
- Care for crops through watering, weeding, fertilizing, and general farm maintenance.
- Harvest produce for use in the café and food truck.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe farm environment.
- Assist with seasonal projects and general farm upkeep.
- Train and supervise youth at farm.
Food Truck Operations
- Safely drive the Monkey Business Café food truck to community events, catering jobs, and scheduled service locations.
- Set up, stock, and prepare the food truck for daily operations.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Represent Monkey Business Café and HART Community Homes with professionalism and excellent customer service.
Kitchen & Food Preparation
- Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality meals using farm-grown ingredients whenever possible.
- Assist with food preparation, inventory, and kitchen organization.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen.
- Deliver exceptional customer service with a positive attitude.
Mission Support
- Work alongside and encourage young adults participating in HART Community Homes’ workforce development program.
- Model professionalism, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.
- Foster a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive work environment.
- Help advance the mission of providing opportunities that build confidence, independence, and job skills.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate a food truck or willingness to learn.
- Previous cooking or food service experience preferred.
- Farm or agricultural experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and a strong team player.
- Passion for serving the community and supporting a mission-driven organization.
