We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer_Remote. The year salary is $110,000 to $120,000.
BASIC SCOPE/PURPOSE
Summary: The Senior Project Engineer will work independently as well as collaborate with cross functional departments to plan, design, and implement capital and operational projects across the distribution network. The position will lead the deployment of material handling systems such as conveyors, sortation, and pack stations, as well as storage and racking installations supporting new client onboarding. The role will act as the technical project lead in driving the successful execution of facility startups, expansions, and building moves, owning project scope, schedule, budget, and quality from concept through go-live.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Lead the planning, design, and execution of capital projects across fulfillment centers throughout the network, including conveyor, sortation, pack station, and racking installations.
· Manage facility startups, expansions, and building moves, including consolidating clients from one or more distribution centers into another facility.
· Develop project scope, equipment specifications, layouts, and material handling solutions, and oversee design and implementation from concept through commissioning and go-live.
· Provide engineering leadership in the design, selection, and integration of material handling equipment and storage systems.
· Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including bidding, equipment procurement, installation oversight, and acceptance testing.
· Work closely with operations, IT, and quality compliance teams to ensure new systems and layouts meet operational, safety, and client requirements at startup.
· Support the overall Innovation Strategy Road Map through the implementation of new automation and material handling technologies.
· Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and status reporting, proactively managing risks, timelines, and change orders to keep projects on track.
· Challenge the “status quo” and develop new approaches to facility design, equipment, and project delivery.
· Oversee site capital projects to include vendor(s) relationships, internal cross-functional support, schedule execution, spending, and benefit realization.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
· Undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering, other related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
· 3 + years of experience in project or industrial engineering, preferably implementing material handling systems and capital projects in a distribution/fulfillment or 3PL environment.
· Experience with applications such as: AutoCAD, Visio, MS Project (or similar scheduling tools), Asana, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
· AutoCAD skills and the ability to read and develop facility layouts are strongly preferred.
· Prior experience with conveyor, sortation, and storage/racking systems and working with equipment vendors and integrators preferred.
· The ideal candidate will utilize project engineering and material handling design concepts to deliver successful facility startups and expansions.

Work Environment:
· Office / Warehouse Mix: This job operates in a warehouse environment. This role will require the ability to, on occasion, go in and out of trailers, navigate around roller racks, and other logistical equipment within a warehouse setting. The position will also require travel of both in air and driving.
· While performing duties of this job, the employee’s work environment may vary from professional office to fulfillment center floor, and other vendor/client locations.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
