Frightmare Farms Haunted SCREAM Park is seeking energetic, creative, and reliable performers to join our cast for the upcoming season as Lantern Keepers and Scare Actors. Whether you thrive on immersive storytelling, theatrical performance, creepy character work, or high-energy crowd interaction, there’s a place for you inside the darkness.
This is more than jumping out and yelling “boo.” Our performers help create fully immersive worlds filled with atmosphere, characters, legends, and unforgettable moments for our guests each season.
Available Roles:
Lantern Keepers
Lantern Keepers are the live hosts of our haunted hayride experience. They ride the wagons with guests, guide them into the story, deliver narration, interact with riders, and help create tension, humor, and fear throughout the journey.
Ideal for:

- Quick thinkers comfortable speaking to large groups
Scare Actors
Scare Actors perform inside our haunted attractions, trails, and hayride scenes. From eerie lurking characters to high-intensity monsters, creatures, and villains, our actors help bring nightmares to life through movement, timing, and immersive character work.

- Horror fans
- Theater students
- Dancers or movers
- Cosplayers
- Haunted house enthusiasts
- Anyone who loves performance and adrenaline
Responsibilities
- Perform in themed environments while remaining in character throughout the shift
- Interact with guests through scripted moments and improvisation
- Create memorable scares, suspense, and immersive experiences
- Work collaboratively with scene partners, managers, and production teams
- Follow safety protocols while maintaining high-energy performances
- Attend rehearsals, training sessions, and costume/makeup preparation
- Adapt performances based on crowd size, weather, timing, and guest reactions
- Help maintain the atmosphere, storytelling, and pacing of the attraction
What We’re Looking For
- Energetic and dependable individuals with positive attitudes
- Comfortable performing around large crowds and in dark environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to improvise and stay in character
- Passion for Halloween, theater, performance, or immersive entertainment
- Reliable transportation to and from Palermo, NY
- Weekend evening availability during haunt season
Performance Experience?
Great, but not required.
We train passionate people from all experience levels. Some of our best performers started with zero acting background and discovered they loved live immersive entertainment.

Season Information
Season runs late September through October
Primarily Friday, Saturday, and select Sunday evenings
