Full Job Description

Food Pantry Operations Director

Objective: Overseeing the day to day operations for the GRIN Food Pantry. Candidate must be committed to serving the mission history and core values of Gahanna Residents in Need, as well as to serving those in need.

Scope of Position:

● Reports to the Executive Director and interacts with volunteers, clients, staff and donors.

● 40 Hours per week, compensation based upon experience, bi-weekly pay

● Evening and weekend hours required, pantries and distribution days required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees the daily operations of the pantry in compliance with site/facility policy, food safety, health and budgetary guidelines.
Maintains safe, secure, clean, healthy and efficient operation of the food pantry.
Maintains quality and freshness of all food pantry items and organization of the same.
Records freezer and refrigerator temperatures prior to each pantry
Responsible for ordering, inventory and distribution of all food, according to budgetary allowance and coordinates with the Executive Director.
Coordinates Mid-Ohio Food Bank orders with shopping coordinator
Facilitates Mid-Ohio & direct retail pick-ups and deliveries
Facilitates Stygler Village distribution of food
Drives the box truck, if needed for pick ups and deliveries.
Facilitates and manages online ordering and food distribution to lockers.
Supervises and trains all volunteers, including Sign-up Genius maintenance
Works with special events and programming, as needed for food and inventory
Collaborate with the Executive Director on strategic planning, goal setting, evaluation, and reporting
Frequent lifting, stocking the food pantry, lifting deliveries

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
One to three years food distribution or warehouse experience, with inventory control.
Valid Ohio Driver’s license, good driving record.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and to stand extended periods of time.
Experience supervising at least 15 people at one time in a work environment.
Strong attention to detail, prioritization, organization and record keeping.

Compensation & Benefits

Bi-weekly
Full-time hourly position (40 hours per week), Tuesday-Saturda
Compensation starting at $19.50 / hour, increased depending on experience
Two weeks paid vacation per calendar year
$400 monthly health and wellness stipend to support insurance or healthcare-related expenses after 90 days probationary period
Eligibility for an annual cost-of-living adjustment, subject to budget availability and Board approval
