- Advanced Environmental Laboratories, Inc. (AEL) is Florida’s largest environmental and analytical testing laboratory network. AEL has been in business for 31 years and serves consultants, industrial operations, and government agencies across a wide range of environmental testing projects.
- AEL is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, with additional laboratories in Tampa, Gainesville, Altamonte Springs, Miramar, Ft. Myers, Lake Placid, and Tallahassee.
- Our work includes drinking water, wastewater, hazardous waste, CERCLA, RCRA, landfill, and property assessment projects. Our client base includes more than 140 city, county, state, and federal agencies across Florida, along with engineering firms and private-sector clients.

POTENTIAL ROLES
- Laboratory Analysts: Support timely setup and analysis of methods and samples, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation, contribute to data quality, follow SOPs, support QA expectations, and help meet turnaround time and client requirements.
- Sample Receivers: Receive and unload samples, review Chain of Custody documentation, verify sample condition and preservation, log samples into Horizon LIMS, label and distribute samples, prepare kits, manage coolers, and communicate sample receipt issues.
- Couriers: Pick up and deliver samples, kits, and supplies; follow sample transport procedures; maintain accurate travel and client visit records; comply with driver and safety expectations; communicate with lab leads; and represent AEL professionally with clients.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES ACROSS ROLES
- Follow AEL procedures, safety expectations, and quality requirements.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, client services, project managers, and other departments as needed.
- Complete assigned documentation accurately and on time.
- Support timely, accurate, and reliable laboratory service to clients.
- Maintain professionalism in client-facing and internal interactions.
- Assist with other related duties based on role, training, business needs, and local management direction.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in an environmental laboratory, commercial laboratory, sample receiving, courier/logistics, field service, quality-focused production environment, or regulated workplace is preferred.
- For analyst roles, a BA or BS degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science field may be required depending on the position.
- For courier roles, a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to meet driver requirements are required.
- Experience with Horizon LIMS, laboratory instrumentation, Chain of Custody documentation, sample handling, EPA/DEP/DOH methods, or environmental testing is helpful depending on the role.
- Candidates must be able to document required experience, education, licenses, or qualifications on their resume when applicable.
