WHO WE ARE

Slices Concession is North America's largest seller of refurbished ice cream and frozen drink equipment. We buy, refurbish, and resell commercial machines to customers across the country — and we're growing fast. We're a small, scrappy team based out of Gainesville, FL that moves quickly, values accountability, and takes pride in running a tight operation.

Right now, parts inventory and procurement are two of our biggest opportunities. We have a large catalog of unique components moving in and out constantly, technicians who depend on parts being available to do their jobs, and a warehouse that needs to stay stocked to keep daily operations running smoothly. No centralized system owns all of this yet. That changes with this hire.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a builder role, not a maintenance role. You'll own the full parts and supplies lifecycle — from understanding what the team needs, to sourcing the best deal, to placing the order, to confirming what arrived is correct, to making sure it's organized and accessible when someone needs it.

You'll work closely with our technicians and warehouse team to stay ahead of what's needed for machine repairs, refurbishment, and day-to-day operations. Think of yourself as the connective tissue between what the team needs and what's actually on the shelf — and the person who makes sure those two things are always aligned.

To be clear about scope: our company also acquires whole machines, which is handled through a separate purchasing function. This role is focused entirely on parts, components, and supplies — but within that domain, you own everything from first search to final receipt.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Build the Foundation

Conduct a full physical audit of all parts and supplies inventory — establishing accurate counts and records from scratch
Design and implement an organized physical storage system, including labeling, zoning, and layout that makes sense for how the team actually works
Set up and maintain our inventory management system (Zoho Inventory) with accurate, real-time records

Collaborate to Stay Ahead

Work directly with technicians to understand upcoming repair and refurbishment needs — and make sure the right parts are available before they're needed
Partner with the warehouse team to keep day-to-day operational supplies stocked and organized
Anticipate demand based on workload, machine types, and historical usage — don't wait to be asked, stay one step ahead
Serve as the go-to resource when the team has questions about parts availability, lead times, or sourcing options

Procurement & Sourcing

Own the full parts ordering process — from identifying what's needed, to finding the best source, to placing the order, to confirming receipt
Actively research and compare suppliers to find the best pricing, lead times, and quality for the components we purchase most frequently
Negotiate with vendors and build relationships that give us leverage on cost and reliability over time
Maintain a preferred vendor list with pricing benchmarks, and continuously look for opportunities to reduce costs without sacrificing quality
Track open purchase orders and follow up proactively to ensure on-time delivery
Inspect and confirm all incoming orders for accuracy and condition before logging into inventory

Inventory Accuracy & Reporting

Run regular cycle counts and full-inventory audits to reconcile physical stock with system records
Investigate and resolve discrepancies — you don't let errors linger
Monitor stock levels and reorder proactively — no one on the team should ever be waiting on a part you could have anticipated
Generate reports on inventory levels, usage trends, cost trends, and vendor performance for leadership review

Document & Improve

Write SOPs for ordering, receiving, counting, and distribution — build the playbook so this function scales
Manage returns and disposition of damaged, excess, or obsolete inventory

Hustle for the Best Deal — You don't reorder from the same place out of habit. You're always asking whether we're getting the best price and quality available.
Communicate — The team and leadership should never wonder what's in stock, what's on order, or when it's arriving. You keep people informed.
Adapt — Priorities shift. New parts arrive. Vendors change. You roll with it without losing your standards.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Required

Prior hands-on experience in inventory management, purchasing, procurement, or supply chain
Experience placing and tracking purchase orders and working directly with vendors or suppliers
Demonstrated ability to manage a large variety of unique items or SKUs with high accuracy
Proficiency with inventory or purchasing software — Zoho Inventory experience is a strong plus
Strong skills in Excel or Google Sheets for tracking, reporting, and cost comparison
Comfortable working cross-functionally — you'll interface daily with technicians and warehouse staff
Physical ability to perform inventory tasks including counting, lifting, and organizing stock (up to 50 lbs)
High attention to detail and a proven track record of accurate record keeping

Bonus Points

Experience building an inventory or procurement system from scratch
Background in sourcing or vendor negotiation — you know how to get a better price
Familiarity with parts, equipment, or technical/mechanical inventory environments
Experience writing SOPs and process documentation

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Pay Range: $20 – $25 per hour, based on experience
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Performance Bonuses: Discretionary quarterly performance bonuses
Paid Time Off: 1 Week accrued at 1 year (40 hours) then weekly at a rate of 40 hours per year. Balance paid upon leaving job.
Sick days: 3 per year non-accrual.
